Libraries are putting in Charge Stations.'brontosaurus meat' gets tired after reading the library picture books. Most often, you'll only need a partial charge to get home.

That's OK. I'll take the 110 to 120mpg equivalent mileage & you can have lesser mpg.

From the article:
Some stores and commercial businesses have begun installing them(C.S.) to bring in customers, offering charges for no cost.
......cost equivalent mpg---- infinity!

Area to get 3 electric car charge stations
Electric car charge stations slated

"While most people with battery-operated vehicles will charge them at home, the charging stations can fully charge a vehicle in three to five hours at a cost of two to five dollars an hour."
-----
"According to General Motors the Volt can travel 25 to 50 miles (40 to 80 km) on its lithium-ion battery."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Volt
---
Assuming the 3 electric car charge stations are spaced 25 miles apart then a single Chevy Volt car could charge up at Station#1 (3 Hrs) travel 25 miles to Station#2 (charge up again 3 Hrs), travel 25 miles to Station#3 (charge up again 3 Hrs), drive back 25 miles to Station#2 (charge up again 3 Hrs) and then drive back 25 miles to Station#1 (charge up 3 Hrs).

The round-trip (excluding actual driving time) is 15 Hrs to travel 100 miles or 6.67 MPH if there was only 1 Car using these 3 electric car charge stations.

If the cost was five dollars an hour for charging, the cost for the round trip of 100 Miles would be 15 Hrs Charging Time X $5.00 =$75.00

If the Car speed was 50 MPH the driving time would add another 2 Hrs of time for a total of 17 Hrs and make the average speed 5.88 MPH.

Average Walking speed is about 3.1 miles per hour.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walking

As the quantity of Chevy Volt Cars increased, the wait times to get access to the charger would be also increase and line-ups would be pretty bad.

The 5.88 MPH average speed for 1 car would soon drop to a value that would make "walking speed" seem like the Indy 500.
----
PS:
A gas guzzler that gets 10 Miles per Gallon and using $4.00 per Gallon Gas would cost $40.00 to make the same round-trip in just 2 Hrs.

it SURE LOOKS LIKE litesong IS GOING TO BE WASTING ITS LIFE AWAY WAITING FOR HIS BATTERIS TO BE CHARGE AND PAYING BIG BUCKS FOR the honor. THIS INCLUDES DOWNTIME SITTING AND WAITING,WAITING, WAITING and more waiting. IT ONLY TAKES me 8HRS. TRAVEL TIME to get to NORTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE. IT IS just shy of 500miles. FUEL COST for 2010 GRAND MARGUE ABOUT $100.00 AT TODAYS PRICE'S. POCKET CHANGE.

A carefully driven Prius might travel the 500 miles on $30. You could give your $70 pocket change to me...... once a week for 40 years.....$145,000.

If it galls you to give money to an EV hybrid driver, even a new Chevy EcoCruze or Hyundai Elantra might drive the distance for $40. You could give $60(~$125,000) to an internal combustion engine driver.

Your definition of pocket change is actually, chump change..... chump.
