Right, you're a perfect mother who's never done anything which could have potentially harmed your child. If you are a rational, thinking person you would know that things can happen with children in the blink of an eye, and it's a mistake you can never take back. I go to to CCU, and i know the professor. She's not stupid, she made a mistake. Shit happens, you don't have to be a jerk about it.

I got caught up in rushing to work one morning and slammed into someone but I don't remember the law being so generous to me. I also got caught up in the department store once and forgot that I had something on my wrist that I had tried on. Don't remember them being so generous to me. I understand getting caught up but how many times can this happen in this city and it go unpunished. So, the next time someone really wants to get rid of their child because they just can't deal...leave them in the car and it will go unpunished. Seems like we've started a trend.

When are the lawmakers of this country going to wakeup and see this is nothing more than a legal and convenient way for a parent to murder their child. I have raised my children and now grandchildren and see no way of forgetting a child in a car. These people that do this should die of the same treatment. It kills me just to imagine the suffering a chiled must go through before they die in this manner. To all you people that have supported this woman. GO GET A LIFE!

She'll get off. Men get life for killing children. Women get sympathy.

"shit" like this does not happen. Maybe in between a masters and doctorate she forgot to be a mother first (but that doesn't look as good on a resume)

Lastly, a mistake would be forgetting your child for 4 maybe 5 steps away from the car, not 8 hours, that is being self absorbed.

This truly sickens me!!

Ok how does something like this happen? I am a mother of a 13 months old child and i would never forget about my child being in the car with me. Think of how this poor defenseless child died. In pain, in a hot car and carseat that she could not escape from only because her mommy forgot about her.. It breaks my heart. Not a minute goes by that i dont think or worry about my son during the day. You would have to have some memory that you never dropped your child off? right? I mean im not perfect and yeah of course i make mistakes but this is one situation that i do not see as a mistake. First parents are leaving them at home while they work now in cars??? The 911 call was very calm and had no emotion what so ever. i hope she gets everything thats coming for her

"MISTAKE"!! A mistake is when you let a child have a glass of soda and they spill it on the floor. An accident is when a child falls and skins a knee. A stupid mistake is when a child falls out of a chair or couch. When you strap a baby into a car drive to work get out and leave it in the car all day, that is nothing but Murder. There is no possable way a parent could forget a child in a car all day. Laws need to be changed today to make this a 1st degree murder. convict this woman and hopefully give her the same treatment. Mistakes such as this dont happen where the wellfare of a child is concerned. Those of you that side with this woman need some serious help. It is no wonder this world is in the shape it is in.

Just curious, but do they drug test parents after something like this or even check what medications they are on? I can't come up with any other reason to forget your child.

Clancy I agree there is no reason I have had my children and my grandchild in the car with me and they were always the first thing on my mind, I think most parents would agree. For whatever reason it may be this woman no longer wanted this child.

Her call to 911 was cold and sounded as if she really didn't care. She probably didn't want the baby anymore and remembered the case last yr. This gave her a convenient way to "abort" the child. She should be charged with murder and let a jury decide her fate.

Very true. I can not understand why so many people turn a blind eye to this situation. Although some states do for whatever reason Ohio does not have laws to say this is murder. I just can not understand why these people continue to get away with it.

Bruce has voiced my first thoughts. I have probably "forgot" just about everything i.e. purse, keys, money etc. however, I cannot for one minute imagine forgetting my children - their welfare is always on my mind.

This is not a mistake;
This is (was) a life.
Just because you know her, or just because she is "educated" doesn't make this alright.

I am not a perfect mother, but I never forgot about my kid's either.
My kid's were my world.
Even if they fell asleep in the car, I still didn't forget them, I alway's checked on them every few minuts to make sure they were still okay.

It's awful funny that two teachers from around here can get by with this, but no one else can.
People can't even get by with leaving a pet in a car for 5 minutes without being crucified by the law, but two teachers "forget" their babies and they die a Year apart and that's okay because they said "I forgot".

NO:
To all you people who have supported her;
Go sit in a hot car with the windows up at 100 degrees out for 8 hours.
When you feel what this child felt you will change your mind.

That's a good idea. They drug test everybody else for everything.

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Aries

How you feel about your values and how your associates feel may not mesh too well today; avoid conversations about morals and scruples. Of course, you could be a politician or a religious worker, in which case you may be tiring of your own rhetoric. It's hard to be good all the time, especially when everyone else seems to be having a jolly time being bad.
