I would appreciate it very much if you could find a place in your paper to publish the following information about an event that will take place in March. I was unable to find a means to do so and am thus placing the news here in hopes that someone will know where to send it. Thanks! Anne Morin, Portland, Oregon (Wisdom of the Elders Project)
The general public is invited to join the Northwest Indian Storytellers Association for an afternoon of Northwest tribal storytelling on Saturday afternoon, March 14, at Brighton Creek Retreat Center in McKenna, Washington. The afternoon, that features this special opportunity to hear and learn from the centuries-old oral tradition of tribal legends and songs performed by some of theis region's finest traditional storytellers and singers, includes lunch at 1 PM, a storytelling session from 2 to 4 PM, closing with a silent auction of tribal arts and crafts. Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are $30 and may be purchased at www.brownbagtickets.com (under performance catetory) or checks can be made payable to WOTE (Wisdom of the Elders), 5518 SE Flavel Drive, Portland, OR 97206. For further information, contact Debbie Russell, at email@example.com.
