"One solution he offered was supporting companies who promise to pay their workers livable wages, even if the workers are undocumented."
So he wants to "support" companies that violate the law by hiring people that have broke the law.
What is the sense of having laws that are not enforced?
"Another proposed solution was allowing companies to hire as many migrant workers as they need, but only after the company tries and fails to hire American citizens."
1 in 6 Americans today are receiving government assistance and today there is record number of people today receiving food stamps. Unemployment is close to 10%. If there are Americans that are receiving government assistance and failed to take open jobs, I believe they should get no more government aid. There are more people looking for jobs today than there are jobs in the market.
