A piss poor response from Carson-Newman as usual. A student is hospitalized and Carson Newman's reaction is that they are handling it through their internal process? They didn't even know where the fight had even happened on their own campus. They have no internal process. Just like the girl last year that was found in the music building. Charles Key and the College communications department have been a joke for years and have made the college look stupid time and time again.

I agree, and to read sheriff mccoig had not returned a call for comment is no surprise. I never heard another word about the poor girl found dead last year. Her death was gruesome, but I haven't heard of anyone being charged..... Does anyone know about any follow up?

I've lived here for 16 years...know a lot of people..and this is the first time I heard about the girl found dead. So sad.

No girl died, it was pretty morbit what she did, but it was self diflicted. No murder, or death happened to a girl last year. Just a sick girl wanting attention.

That is the truth to what really happened.

No, sorry to say, but a young girl did die. I know that for a fact.

Years ago a girl that I went to school with died there in a dorm but it wasn't foul play. The girl in the music room recently did not die there. I know that for a fact.

Was this the girl that died in February 1999? She was a close friend of mine from high school. In fact, I talked to her about coming to CN after attending Walters State.

I am sad to admit it, since I used to work there, but the Carson Newman administration is now filled with a bunch of disgusting people who have tried one attempt after another to buy the local government and police force, and pull the wool over the citizens of Jefferson City.

From trying to get the city to close a public road under false pretenses, to now putting the city on its pay roll for campus security and everything in between, including some of the downtown shenanigans that clearly violate the law, Carson Newman has become another corrupt institution that I am ashamed to be a part of. I no longer contribute to them.

There are great students on the campus, but CN is filled with teachers and administrators that are nothing but liberal bullies that use the guise of christian education to make a dime. If you follow any of them on Facebook, you can see their true colors. It sounds extreme, but essentially they brainwash students into conforming to their liberal point of view. I don't know of a single conservative christian that works on that entire campus.

Sadly, I do not know how the Tennessee Baptist Convention lets them get away with it. I do know a few years ago, the Board of Trustees tried to become self-perpetuating and the TBC withheld funding. In addition, two students tried to address the matter of liberalism before the TBC but nothing came to fruition.

I wholeheartedly agree. They have continually conned the TBC, putting on one face when its time for the TBC to vote for funding them, and then showing an entirely different face on campus. I've seen Jim Wilson, continually post comments about how abortion is ok and I've seen other people from the college talk about gender neutral bathrooms, and same sex marriage. Things that the TBC does not support. Parents need to realize when they send their kids there that it is barely a Christian college, yet alone a Baptist one.

I have heard that Dean Haun, a former TBC president and pastor of FBC-Morristown, serves on the board of trustees, is not happy with some of the positions that some of the administrators are taking(I'm sure he's not happy with Jim either, but Jim is retired). I heard from a former missions director of the local Baptist association that over a five year period, that the TBC is going to divert the funding that goes to CN and Union toward missions. However, I imagine that if CN came out publicly in support of gay marriage or abortion, then the TBC would automatically move to permanently cut funding and ties with the University. Btw, the Jefferson County Baptist Association has moved to dismiss First Baptist Church-Jefferson City from membership after a resolution was passed at a meeting that would prohibit women from being ordained as deacons or in pastoral roles. FBC-Jefferson City sends most of its money to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, a group of moderates and liberals that left the Southern Baptist Convention following the conservative resurgence.

It should be worth noting, that a lot of those liberal teachers attend First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, which gives most of its money to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, a moderate/liberal group that split from the Southern Baptist Convention following the Conservative Resurgence. In fact, the church, was recently expelled from the local Baptist Association for ordaining women as deacons and ministers(although it is still dually aligned with the Southern Baptist Convention and Tennessee Baptist Convention).

Jim Wilson is a crybaby liberal who has lived off of the system for most of his life and can't stand when someone doesn't agree with his nonsense. He's retired now, I guess, but he has used Appalachian Outreach as his own storage unit and taken home donations or given donations to his family and some of his friends who don't need them. Companies all around would donate food and other items to go to the needy, and part of it goes to AO and part of it goes to Jim's house or to his family. I have volunteered at AO and seen it happen every day. He is the typical liberal who believes he is entitled to donations that are given to the poor as well as making a salary from working with the organization. It's pretty disgusting, if you ask me. He is the poster child for the problems at CN and First Baptist.

I have heard that during the past 2 meetings of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, that there were plans to cut funding to CN and Union University by 2020 with that funding to go toward missions. I guarantee that if anyone from The TBC witnessed some of the shenanigans that go on over there, they'd lose the funding faster than 2020. In fact, if CN ever came out in support of the homosexual agenda or support abortion, they'd also be cut from the TBC. Btw, although FBC has been formally dismissed by the Jefferson County Baptist Association over this issue of ordaining women as pastors or deacons, I would imagine that if they name a woman as their next senior pastor, then the TBC and SBC would also remove them from their membership.
