CSULB awarded $900,000 by Department of Defense to study ocean transportation
The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded $900,000 to Cal State Long Beach to help fund studies meant to improve ocean transportation in the nation's busiest ports, officials announced this past week.

Virtually all of the ships that visit the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles are flagged in countries other than the US. Why should we be spending our money to help them?
