To veterans of past social movements, the Occupy Wall Street protests that began in New York and spread nationwide have been a welcome response to corporate greed and the enfeebled economy.

"The growing cohesiveness and profile of the protest have caught the attention of public intellectuals and veterans of past social movements."

Translation: they still don't know what they're bitching about nor who they're protesting, not to mention what they want.

Damn right they are, and it's about time.

Those in Europe, who suffered at the hands of the criminal activity of Wall Street which sold them endless toxic derivatives graded as "A" paper products, have been asking for two years now why we aren't in the streets rioting.

Things have to get bad enough first, and the rank hoplessness and dejected place the recently unemployed, underemployed, and the already homless and disaffected find themselves, dictates that the next natural step is civil disobedience, then anarchy.

It doesn't have to come to that, but Republicans who own Washington politics, the media, and the learges corporations need to realize their very way of life is in jeopardy should the masses revolt.

And it won't take much at this point. Between Wall Street, the banks, and fascist run corporate America with their thumbs on the scale, we're at that much talked about "tipping point."

When millions of Americans were protesting white supremacist state governments in the South, conservatives the nation over were calling them every name in the book: communists, agitators,
anarchists, anti-Americans etc. That won't change.
They're doing it now with the Occupy Wall Street
people. A guy like Cain who benefited from the Civil Rights movement--it made it possible for a black man to become successful in business--never took part but stayed hidden under his bed while his black brothers risked their lives to do away with apartheid government.

The Occupy Wall Street protest has swelled and spread across the country; these are average everyday patriotic Americans that are beginning to inspire more to come out and join the movement. In just four weeks the numbers have ballooned into the thousands, thatís why the republicans are stressing this movement because the thought of the middle class and poor rising up with this field of weak republican non-presidential candidates is setting up President Obama to be easily re-elected.

This is the kind of protesters that the GOP knows will inspire people to join the movement.

Te leftwing media is having a hard time playing this up since Obama has hired Wall Street to fill his administration.

They would have to ask the question of: WHY Haven;t you prosecuted any of YOUR BANKER Friends Obama?

Turns out these loons aren't even smart enough to know what's going on. They are asking WHY isn't government paying off their loans?

The media knows this is ridiculous and when Obama has 19% Underemployment,$14 Trillion in Debt, 3 Wars raging,...this is not a good time to bring up their idiotic, irresponsible requests.

You mean like Pelosi's investment of $100K ~$250K in Comcast?
Kerry's $1.75 ~$2.5 Million in Comcast?
Or do you mean the other 57 members of congress invested in Disney?
Harkin?
Maybe you meant those pesky Democrats invested in defense contractors?

Nah. I've read enough of your posts to know you'd never mention Democrats, no matter how filthy, underhanded or corrupt they might be.

Trying to compare this idiotic march for FREEBIES to the civil rights marches 40 yrs ago just shows how Shallow and Ignorant you are.

Trying to repeat the moronic and embarrassing Larry O'donnel interview is even more of a joke.
