I am sure that in your church you’re just pushed underwater and the magic words are said over you by the preacherman. In our church we also have to take vows to become members. We have a much more personal experience in our Baptism. In addition, we have to repeat our vows whenever we witness a Baptism, Confirmation or attend the Great Vigil of Easter services in our church.
