It is my belief that this world is tangible evidence.
that's the fallacy of circular reasoning

god created the world, and the world proves god exists

that is not a logical statement, nor is it true in symbolic logic

you can't test for god, directly or indirectly

feelings are not tests

technology allows us to look out in the universe and see many stages of star's lifecycle

we can see asteroids and comets and how planets formed

we know from the Stanley Miller experiments about the gases and lightening forming amino acids

we can see species change over time and environmental stressors through observation and through the fossil record

the conclusion can only be that there are natural processes at work

we live in the natural world

there is no litmus or electromagentic scanner for supernatural things

on the balance of evidence, if you're intellectually honest,

you don't see these natural processes and think

you do proclaim it when you state your religion.

you have dismissed all other religions for your one religion

are you saying now that you think your religion is inferior to one or mor of the other options?

why would you not then pick the one you think is correct, best, superior?

the only difference between a theist and an atheist is that a theist doesn't believe in any of the religions except one

and the atheist doesn't believe any of them

so, since you can discount hundreds of other religions, why not take that logic that one religion more?

For someone who claims to be an atheist, it seems like the writer of the article sure is ignorant about atheism. He seems to be projecting his own beliefs regarding atheism and is sterotyping all atheists as claiming to be "rationally-minded" superior people, when that is not what most of us claim.

Atheists, by definition, just have no belief in GODS, for whatever reason, or no reason. It does not discount them from believing in the supernatural. Some atheists can and do believe in a lot of crazy irrational things, such as ghosts, big foot, etc. So? Atheism is just the lack of belief in one thing....gods. Anything else is up for grabs.

true, people forget that atheism and skepticism are not one and the same

an atheist does not have any belief in god(s)

skeptics don't accept anything without evidence - gods, elves, ghosts, fairies, vampires, magnetic healing jewelry or anything without evidence

you can be an atheist and not a skeptic

but I don't think you can be a skeptic and not also an atheist

The truth is superior to a lie. That is why I believe in God. I have no problem saying my belief in God is superior to atheism.

I alway understood "truth" to mean "the property of being in accord with fact or reality". So how is atheism a lie???

Do you have any facts of reality with which you can define the term 'god'???
