Nice article. It's obvious he's speaking from the heart. Baylor used to be thought of very highly, but has really fallen apart in the past decade.

Reggie it is cynical people like you that make for a worse society. I'm a lesbian and just want to be treated like everyone else. I don't care about waving a gay pride flag in someone's face, or that you even agree or disagree with my viewpoints. All I want is to live in a society that doesn't condemn me for being who I am without even getting to know me.

Amen Elizabeth! Reggie, if someone like myself or Elizabeth pay the same taxes as you, shouldn't we have the same rights? It is folks like you who think you should control everything and everyone. What ever happened to judge not, lest ye be judged? Whatever happened to "As I have loved you, love one another"? With so much hatred in this country/world, why would you fight against love? This has nothing to do with control, it is all about equality.

Kenneth Starr is a brilliant legal mind - a once viable SCOTUS candidate. As dean of Pepperdine Law School he elevated the University to prestigious national recognition. Baylor will benefit tremendously from his contributions.

What part of Mr. Staples college search lead him to believe Baylor U "the world's largest Baptist institution" would foster or condone his lifestyle?

Apparently A. Latham Staples doesn't really admire everyone from Baylor "for remaining steadfast to their convictions." -- Christians aren't allowed to follow theirs!

p.s. Kenneth Starr will raise beaucoup more bucks for the university than his individual donations.

With Kenneth Starr's fat butt chained to the president's chair at Baylor University, he won't be representing PropH8ers in courts of law ever again.

I am anything but cynical....I am a mainstream AMERICAN that believes in live and let live. Gays and people such as yourself do not seem to believe in live and let live. Gays can do anything they want I just do not want the jammed down my throat

You do pay the same taxes I do, however, the difference between you and me is that do not put myself on display as some gays do. I live a private life and I adhere to the laws as they are written. I do not constantly agitate and advocate for the laws to be changed so my way of life is the only things that matter

And Kenneth Starr is one of my GREAT heroes because he impeached that BASTARD Clinton.

Lest any of you forget, it was that BASTARD Clinton that signed DADT & DOMA into law.

He COULD have vetoed them, but he signed them because he does NOT support Equal Rights for gay Americans.

The BASTARD !

I'm curious as to how you know how I live! I do not walk around wearing gay pride shirts, unlike you, I don't hug and/or kiss my partner at the mall, grocery store or other public areas. In fact, it seems that you and yours stuff your lifestyle down the throats of everybody. If you were denied rights simply because of who you fell in love with, you would fight for equality as well. It is because it doesn't affect you that you can be so mean spirited and callous about it.

You are not superior but if it floats your boat to think that then go ahead.

Gays and the author of the article we are discussing (HAHA) do not like Kenneth Starr because he sucessfully defended Prop8 which was duly voted on by the people of California and passed.

Now the gays are out to get Kenneth Starr by dragging him through the mood.

if gays want to co-haitate man and man or woman and woman that is your business. As always the laws of the land are written for the good of the majority and obviously the majority wants marriage to be a union between a man and a woman

What makes you think Starr gave up his CA law license? He defended Prop 8 while Dean of Pepperdine Law School, no?

Being both a lawyer and president of a Baptist Hate School is more than a full time job.

Baptists need his full-time services defending their Baby Kidnapping Ministries in Haiti.

He won't have time for the PropH8ers anymore.

Poor, poor homophobic cretins are crying "victim" these days.

That's a good indicator of (slow) progress towards equality.
