From the Annals of 1910 The many friends of Mrs. James Boynton and her sister, Miss Martha Harris, of High Shoals, were glad to hear that the latter, who had been very ill with an attack of la grippe, was considered out of danger, and wished for her a speedy recovery.
My ex-wife had a bad case of la gripe. That's why I got rid of her.
