As a Hogs' fan, this worthless p.o.s has outraged me for doing this to ya'lls trees.. I hope they make him pay a HEFTY fine, keep him in jail for a long time and have some serious mental health treatment. Personally, I wish they could make this sob drink some of the poison.. that would be justice. This is such an awful story.. those beautiful, beautiful trees... I hope the experts are proven wrong and these trees can be saved, someway. I'm very sorry to hear this happened..

This is sickening for all across the country. Every university that goes through strong rivalry with others never want it to go this far, even for their adversary. Poor Auburn. They never deserve this nor did their trees.

This unbalanced creep lost focus. Heaven forbid he set the bar/standards for University Psychos. What's next would have it been if nothing was done? A mascot, a faculty member, student? It's scary. Hope he learns what it's like to feel a few Auburn fans displeasure in prison. Let him be an example for the next guy.

First of all, I could care less about Alabama football, that said, that tree did not belong to ALABAMA, It was built by god, nuetured, allowed to grow by god. This man destroyed one gods creations.ALABAMA hung hundreds of blacks for a lot less. In the old days there was a thing about TAR AND FEATHERS, AND RODE OUT STATE ON A RAIL. Not cool to hang b...ks anymore, but is it illegal to tar and feather?????? just asking ///// The court will just give him a cash money fine, thats all the courts will be after ( REVENUE )
Just wonder what Updyke Sr. would think what was done. I was sorry to hear about tree, which did not do a Dahm thing TO EITHER Alabama sports team. Maybe both teams condemed this Tree to it`s death. YOU say a new one will be planted, none of us will ever see it grow to where it is now. SHAME, SHAME hARVEY

Sorry just a thought. when this great tree is cut down. let it be school project for the students. Cut this tree into pieces , sanded down, treated with Tung oil, THEN SOLD TO ALUMNI, WHO LOVED THE GREAT TREE. PROCEEDS GO TO SCHOLRSHIPS FOR STUDENTS WHO NEED HELP TO GET COLLEGE EDUCATION .

i AM 72 years old , very little education, my spelling, and better typing skills, give a young person a chanch to get a education , JUST A THOUGHT///// Good luck to all, on both sides.

I returned when I learned he keeps losing atty. to defend him. ARE you kidding me. thirty thousand Shyster, ambulance chasers, around, I am sure a big majority of them could care less about any school rivilery it`s about the bucks. they can not string this out for years, while collecting there high fees. NUMBER ONE HIS EVIL ACTION WAS NOT AGAINST THAT TREE, IT WAS ABOUT HIS HATETRED FOR HIS FELLOW MAN.

REMEMBER This dude is not in jail, the next time you hear about him, he may be carrying a AK47, shooting people under the giant oak tree.
Maybe you need to put snipers in the tree, to protect
