Sure wish something could be done about Asbury Seminary's greed for land in Wilmore. They are running businesses tax free--that hotel they run competes with the 3-4 Bed/Breakfast that are in town and they do this TAX FREE. All the property they buy for housing isn't taxed. Why is that? If they're using the property to make money, they should pay taxes. Again, many Wilmore residents got into the rental business to fund their retirements, but cannot compete with a "Godly institution" that gobbles up property, runs businesses for profit, but doesn't pay taxes. Now the city is considering raises taxes on the rest of us. I wish the school system could charge tuition for every ATS child that enrolls in public school so someone other than the tax payer of Wilmore/Jessamine County paid for their public education.
