NYT: AZ Prop 300 'Frightening' Away Illegal Alien Students

Feb 3, 2009 Full story: newsbusters.org 15

The New York Times wants you to know that legislators in Arizona are mean to illegal immigrants trying to go to the state's schools on the cheap. The Times wants you to imagine that Arizona's new anti-illegal laws are oppressing those poor, illegal immigrant students that come into Arizona expecting to get all sorts of loans and financial breaks just because... well, just because they happen to draw a breath. The Times wants us all to tsk tsk the state of Arizona because it had the guts to finally do something about the billions of dollars lost to this flood of criminal aliens. Somehow, I don't feel so bad, though.

The rest of the US can look to AZ and Mississippi for a little leadership in culling the herd of illegal aliens invading the US!! Screw the NYT!

Teresa Guerra, 26, a student at Phoenix College, called the new law “cruel.”
Life on the whole is cruel. Deal with it.
...what worries some educators here is that nonlegal residents...will be afraid to pursue any form of higher education.
"Nonlegal"? Sure hope ol' McKinley had plenty of chap-stik on before he wrote that...
“I see it as a very cruel law,” said Teresa Guerra, 26, a fourth-generation Mexican-American who is studying history at Phoenix College, a part of the Maricopa system.“A lot of people I’ve grown up with have gone through that whole thing. They’re raised in the American educational system, and now they have no future. These are people who have basically lived in America their whole lives, know nothing else, and now their shot at the American dream is gone.”
Know why that is, Teresa? In the words of Tom Tancredo: "Because they're breaking the law."

We also have to remember the only "loan" the NY Times received was a 16% interest loan from Mexico's wealthiest man. Surely the times won't publish "slanted" articles, now that they've sold their souls to a Mexican. Ya right what a rag it's become.

I don't know why the NYT editorial writers constantly slam Arizona about our anti-illegal immigrations laws. They fill their editorials with loaded words, inflamatory accusations, half-truths, and twisted interpretations of what is happening here.
It is unfortunate that people believe them and quote them.

It's simple the "pro-amnesty desperados" don't like your AZ laws. I on the other hand wish my state would get off its' butt and pass the same ones! Stiff AZ laws and Sheriff Joe......I'm envious!

The NYT's wants amnesty to secure the Democratic Party as most of them will vote Democrat. The Dem's already have NY, CA, IL and FL. They don't need many more electorial votes. We will be a 1 party country. It will be a disaster!!!

Well of course the Messiah's dream of amnesty will benefit the dems. He and his little Acorns have quite a plan. They want a one-party American. This isn't a comprehensive anything, but an all-out war!

I wish my state would do the same.
If I were in a foreign country, I'd be afraid of everything. Nothing's keeping the illegals here, except the promise of the Messiah, the A-ACLU, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the advocates who all support slave labor.

Wait until the mexican gov't collapses. They will be crossing the border by the thousands.
Watch Glenn Beck on FOX at 5pm EST. He and Lou are the only 2 talking about this. The cartels have infiltrated everything. They even have Lions Dens now they are throwing people in.

And we had BETTER be prepared to mow them down with gunfire as they cross the border.

what would Glen Beck or Fox know about Mexico? Watch Univision or Telemundo, people who actually have reporters from where they are reporting about. Lion's Dens? dang man you'll believe anything. did you see Glen Beck's report that those filthy Mexicans have this new pair of sandals now and all they have to do is click there heals together 3 times and say, "there's no place the America, there's no place like America" and they magically teleport to our side of the border, coyote free.

Sure they have a future... back in their home country. When they are deported, they should be saying "Thank you, America, thank you for a "free" (taxpayer funded) education that is much better than any I could get in mexico... no I can return there with an advantage over the rest of the population"

Their shot at the American dream is gone???

IT WAS NEVER THEIRS TO BEGIN WITH... not if they are here ILLEGALLY. Return home and apply to come here the right way... they can only blame their parents and themselves.
...what worries some educators here is that nonlegal residents...will be afraid to pursue any form of higher education.
These "educators" should be worried about the LEGAL American that got shut out of their class because the last seat was taken by an ILLEGAL COCKROACH INVADER!

I love how the bill is numbered "300"... like the movie about the Spartans.

I can see it now....(Dream sequence) Sheriff Joe proudly walks up to a filthy day-laborer in a sombrero. He says "THIS. IS. AMERICA.!" Then kicks him square in the chest making him fall backwards into the polluted Rio Grande River.
