Now England pays the price for treating Burma as if it were still an English colony.
And for hypocracy.
There were ample opportunities for England to help develop Burma. During the socialist dark era, the English establishment happily accomodated the military usurper Ne Win; he even owned a house in Wimbledon.
Suu Kyi was in lovey dovey with Michael Aris, totally oblivious of the sufferings of Burmese people.
Burma fell into the lap of China deeper in1988.
Ne Win,who was Fargaung Shu Maung to the young Crown Prince Shwebomin, had squandered the state coffers and reduced GNP to subsistent level. Nobody cared.
The young blood royal was the lone dissident, isolated from Burma that was a big prison for all inside.
England had a chance to fo good to Burma. No thanks.
By 1988, foreign currency reserves were barely 10 million dollars.
If China did not lend $2000,000,000 Burma as a state would have collapsed as a direct consequence of evil Panglong.
