It is an obscene miscarriage of justice than Dan Gukeisen could leave his apartment, come downstairs with a weapon and stab a drunk, unarmed man to death, and not be charged with deliberate, premeditated murder! It is obvious that his connections with the socalled Justice system that allowed him to remain free on his own recognizance has obviated all possibility of justice for Garrett Hohn. This is reminiscent of justice for Blacks in the state of Mississippi, and is a stain on the honor of Arizona and the nation. I pray that Garrett's family will appeal to the new Attorney General, Eric holder, for their son and they have been deprived of their Civil Rights.

Thamspx1,

Garrett was armed. Obviously there is more to the story than you know.

Sue,
I am glad someone else realizes there is more to this story. Everyone seems to leave out the parts of Mr. Gukeisen having called the police because the two young men were breaking down his door or the fact that his brother was knocked out with a rock to the face by one of them. People should not be judging when they do not have all the facts. It was a terrible accident that both families are having to deal with.

That does not require the use of DEADLY force, the knife, what are you thinking?

Sue and Sammy, you should review the police report and court file before spreading misinformation, where ever you may have got it from (or made up).

those of you who speak of garrett without knowing him or the actual events that transpired that night are doing nothing but making yorselves look uneducated. Garrett ws not armed, nor was he breaking down the jerks door. Both of these facts were proven in a court before a judge by experts who exaimened the evidence. As a close friend of the victim it pains me to read things insuinating that he in some way provoked this. He did nothing wrong. And we all miss him.

Does anyone know what happened to Dan Gukeisen? I was going to meet with him about bankruptcy, but now I have to wonder.

Obviously YOU have no idea what you are talking about... Garrett was not armed! You should really think before you put that. Get your facts straight!

A rock can kill! Cops shoot people who throw rocks and this was not a pebble this was a softball sized rock.

On April 6, 2011, the jury returned a verdict of guilty on the charge of manslaughter against Daniel Ray Gukeisen, in Maricopa County Superior Court cause #CR2009-005838.

And to Sue and Sammy. If you were present at the trial and pre-trial proceedings, you are aware that Gukeisen's "defense" was to suggest that his OWN BROTHER, who came downstairs and outside to try to diffuse the confrontation, did the stabbing. Nice guy - throw the brother under the bus in an effort to save his own skin. Thanks should be given to his brother (who testified at the trial even though neither Dan nor his wife did) for helping bring some justice into this tragedy.

Gukeisen has been disbarred in Arizona (see: http://www.azbar.org/FindALawyer... ). According the State Bar website, he ADMITTED violating Ethical Rule 8.4(b) which provides: "It is professional misconduct for a lawyer to:...(b) commit a criminal act that reflects adversely on the lawyer's honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer in other respects."

It's scary what's going on in Arizona now. Law enforecent, ours, is trying the best they can.I want law enforcement, organized society.Obama will never defeat me-send him to his type of society in Mexico, not Canada.Sure the guy is going back to that worst general rated state of Illinois.
