I find this whole incident in Washington (temporarily vacation skipping tactic) just another smokescreen to cover up all the laziness that has become our glorious Senate. You Talk about a worthless agenda,(drilling in Africa and elsewhere) for what will turn out to be a worthless amount of oil. It just goes to prove that when the average taxpaying citizen becomes lazy he or she is immediately fired from their backbreaking jobs. And when those politicians whom are inherently quite lazy to start with make a stand just before the end of the summer session combination five-week vacation, you can bet its politically motivated and not in the overall interests of the people.
