Colombians generally feel that the U.S. has been more of a friend than some of it's neighboring countries. The opinion of Chavez and some of those other socialist leaders in South America should not influence the relationship between the U.S. and Colombia. Chavez and his peers are only ignorant power hungry trouble makers, who don't have a clue about how to bring growth and success to their countries, they would love to drag Colombia down the drain along with them. I am a Colombian and I hope that the U.S. and Colombia can work out an agreement that allows the U.S. Bases to continue their presence in Colombia to help us against the drug traffickers and the FARC terrorist.
