This is excellent news as the Tibetan Govertnment in Exile will have a president which will the voice of Tibet to open a new dialogue with China. The Dalai Lama is snubbed by being met in the met room ( unheard of ) and being given a medal ( which is the equivalent of a watch for retiring employees )

Please note that the "exiled government" is not legitimate and is not recognized by any country in the world, Sangay's appointment is just another political show by the Dalai Lama.
"Sangay is young and active from TYC, but the Dalai Lama is still the mastermind of the group.
Barry Sautman, a Tibet expert at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, told AFP that any important decisions would still have to be discussed with the Dalai Lama".
Shingtsa Tenzinchodrak, a living Buddha for Tibetan Buddhism, said the Dalai Lama's self-declared retirement was a sheer "self-directed and played out farce. The Shakyamuni Buddha required Buddhists to pursue spiritual improvement, rather than meddle in politics. But the Dalai Lama has long engaged in activities that aim to split China."

The Free Tibet Movement represent only the former slaver owners/landlords in exile. These aristocrats of old Tibet were the minorities back then.

The majority before 1959 were serfs and slaves who were cruelly abused by their aristocratic overlords. Luckily, these slave owners were ousted by the majority in 1959 and they escaped to India.

So the Free Tibet Movvement can only represent their own interest of restoring their priveleges, but they never represent those of the freed serfs and slaves whose life improves remarkably after liberation.

But many politicians in the west try to tell the world these former slave abusers were good guys and were fighting for all Tibetans. See the distortion?

No doubt the west have twisted the facts and the history about Tibet in the past and the present.

The Shangralah version of Tibet prior to China's take over is ingrained in western culture.

I do believe major cracks are showing, that the truth is finally coming out that Tibet was no more a Shangralah then Pol Pot was a humanitarian.

I think that is one of the reasons the Dali Lama decided to retire and now they got some guy who has never set foot in Tibet to lead the exiled government. I feel sorry for him, I think he's been used up the wazoo.
