Sorry if I have missed something Rama. The quote is certainly not mine and I doubt it comes from anyone with any knowledge of the conditions for Tibetians in China. The only hope of ever moving Tibet from a provence that requires 90% of expenses to be delivered by the national economy is to get the areas natural beauty and the Tibetan culture to start earning big time. That and some decent education programes, that include, even for non Tibetan children, langauge and culture lessons. To move a provance from the 12th Century to the twentyfirst will take some time, to do it without distroying the culture will take longer. The other thing to do is to stop teaching the language, but that is cretainly not happening on the north side of the mountains!
