Isn't pretty much EVERYTHING you can buy these days made in China.

Your cell phone may say an American or European or Japanese brand on the outside, but I would just bet that most of its guts, including its battery is made in China.

This is awful. The Chinese are suppose to export their poison and death devices. Not use them at home. Someone screwed up.

Man, as if the threat of brain tumors wasn't enough to already get us all to use ear pieces / head sets.

Yes, all those are manufactured in China. But the global brands like Nokia, Ericcson, Sony, LG , Samsung maintain their quality standards wherever they may manufacture their products. On the contrary you get chinese branded items (manufactured in china, of course) that cost only 25% that of popular brands with the same features. It is known to the buyers that it is of average/poor quality, and there is no warranty, but now it has thrown up a big issue of safety!
Nobody wants to die for a really cheap but feature loaded the cell phone!
