The big question now is, Were they justified to fire 137 rounds into a vehicle with 2 unarmed passengers?
After listening to the evaluation on the news yesterday, I know the facts. And as it appears to me and I am sure many of you, There
is no way I can find any justification in their actions. They said there was a gun, but no gun was ever found in the car or on the occupants, in video survellance and dash cam video, no gun was ever seen to be branished or pointed at the officers. Several of the officers didn't even know how many shots they fired, and a few reloaded to continue to shoot into a already bullet riddled car. But what really is upsetting is the police union interferes with a police investigation, goes public and demands the chief resign. They want to blame him for the lack of disipline the officers used that night, they want to blame him for their lack of judgement, they knew the policies and procedures of their department but they disreguarded them. Everyone is responsible for their actions. The choices they made that night were outragious and a threat to us all. They were out of control. Their actions are a testimony to that! We really can"t expect them to tell us the truth, because they would all be charged with murder. So we have to remember self preservation, they will lie and the union will support those lies. But we are not as ignorant as they would like us to be and we are depending on our justice system to charge them with murder. No one is above the law, not a policemen, no one. Infact they hold a higher standard because of their position.
If this is deemed to be justified, them we are all in trouble. How can we ever feel safe?
