I wanted to add to the post that we were actually hit by a vortex that was behind us. That video footage is seen in another clip from another storm chaser that was behind us. There were 2 short lived twisters that formed directly above our vehicle then touched down behind us. One of which passed around us and then about 2 feet in front of the vehicle. That video was taken from our meteorologists' camera in the front seat. My girlfriend was saying, "OH MY GOD" becuase our SUV had actually started sliding and uplifting. The force felt from the wind was so incredible on the vehicle that its started to scare myself and her. I fortunatly ducked down just before the windows went and sustained little injury. What seemed to be a short live window breaking was actually about 10 seconds longer that what was captured on video due to the camera getting shut off. debree and glass were flying through the vehicle and we found many large stones inside the SUV as well. The paint on the back of the vehicle was as if someone shot about a thousand BB's at it. Fortunatly ducking down saved us from what could have been serious injury. After we started moving again we were accompanied by softball sized hail and very strong winds. With no window to protect us we were still dodging debree and fighting tornadic winds untill the dry line of the front passed. There is more footage that is just a must see with all of our different cameras from behind and in front of our vehicle along with our 2 cameras inside ours. The video taken from another chaser shows the twister hitting out vehicle form the left side and throwing out luggage box 100 yards off the road.

Ryan, get a better hobby dear. You're going to get killed over something not worth it! You actually think this is cool???

To Steve and Jillian,

Perhaps it's for the thrill? Maybe there's a little more to life than sitting at home and watching Jerry Springer all day. Life is for the living and if you want to see tornadoes, hurricanes or anything else that interests you then go for it!! You can get killed driving down the road tomorrow, what are you going to do stay inside your bubble the rest of your lives? LIVE A LITTLE!! And yes chasing tornadoes is cool! Who are you to determine what something is worth?

One recommendation for them:
LEXAN

Bullet proof glass, professional storm chasers use it.
