That is ridiculous.......who is going to bag 5-10 bags of leaves, put them in their car and then drive cross town to dump them? Why can't arrangements be made with the trash pick-up to pick up leaves???? The city had 2-4 workers putting in new wheelchair assesible curbs all summer, which I quarantee you will not see any one in a wheelchair use..........when it gets colder no one is going to be riding bikes to use those things. Not having a leaf pickup is a big mistake. Whoever had the not so bright idea of 2 leaf pickups was wrong, because when the 1st pickup came around, hardly any leaves had fallen, not once, but every year.
Come on City of Akron, come up with something better, lot of people don't even have cars to haul leaves across town.

Please stuff yor leaves down the sewers and let the sewer department worry about them. This is another attempt to strong arm citizens into approving more tax increases. Let's cut the Office of the Advisor to the Mayor on Multicultural, Ethnic, and Women's Issues and her staff of 25.

This article is about Mansfield not picking up leaves for the residents.
Better Idea

Just do it the easy way. Wait for the wind to blow them into the neighbors' yard. Case closed.

I'm amazed by the trivial things that people worry about.

leaf pickup is not required for a municipality to provide. It is a nice thing to have when the money is available, but is not neccisary for the continued function of gov't or safety of citizens. It's not always taxpayer responsibility to make your life simpler for you. You don't want leaves in your yard, pay a private hauler or yard service to remove them, drive them somewhere yourself, do whatever you want. Whatever you do, stop whining because you think the city should be wipeing your nose or tying your shoes for you.
