So now "Free Speech" protects the promotion of animal cruelty and hideous depictions of violence but it prohibits school prayer. Hmmm, where is this country headed?

They should be a LAW in this country to BAN dog fighting for ever! It is a crime that these SOB'S should be put into Prison & done the same thing to them. They think this is a joke doing this to these dog's when it's the SOB'S that should be beaten to death. Who in their right mind would do this to dog's. I truly detest these SOB'S & i know they will get what is coming to them. People of this nature have no morales, no souls, heartless SOB'S!

And what are we supposed to remember in November regarding the Supreme Court, Sue?

The President appoints people to the court, the people do not elect Supreme Court justices.

I hope that when you go to the polls, you'll be armed with more--and better--information than you seem to have about this issue.

take this as my freedom of speech......... let me think about this ... in order to get the video, you would have to commit animal cruelty.. the U.S Supreme Court must be mentally handicaped to think that this is ok...... would you let a video be aired with children beating other children with weapons just to prove that it is voilent?????????? some of these people really dont have a clue!

Dog fighting is cruel, and illegal. What would make people think that vidoe taping and showing it is legal. Those who break the law by fighting dogs are not entitled to any constitutional rights. The Constitution does not protect you from illegal activity .If your video taping ,you are involved in the act.Maybe the people who fight dogs should have to fight for their life against the dogs they fight.

Omg, This country is so messed up! Don't they know if a person could hurt an animal then it is nothing to hurt a human, I have seen it done, plus look at Jeffery Domer. maybe the people that voted for it like to see dogs bleeding and die. SICK-Os

those of you that think dog fighting is ok should have to fight for your life like the dogs do.

The problem with banning animal cruelty videos is that it eliminates the awareness of the issue. Many people require a visual shocker to understand the need for animal safety and abuse issues. To eliminate animal cruelty videos across the board would eliminate the ability for certain organizations to use these videos for good reasons. For example, the ASPCA uses rather graphic videos in their commercials while asking for support in their cause. Even though their videos are not as graphic as this particular video, a judicial ruling against these videos would prohibit the ASPCA, and other beneficial animal organizations from bringing visual awareness to their causes. In fact, organizations such as these depend on advertisements to bring in their donations and they are mostly generated by reaching the heart of their donors those these trying videos. It could also eliminate the news media's ability to cover certain animal cruelty stories in the area.
Animal cruelty is wrong. Rather than attempt to ban the videos, spend those funds on capturing those who are forcing these animals harm one another. Thanks.

Some of you are not smart enough to criticize a ruling since you do not know what it's saying.

That's great and all, but this ruling is not about dog fighting in itself. Learn to read.

Because you've addressed THREE SEPARATE issues.
Those who break the law by fighting dogs are not entitled to any constitutional rights.
Although that is YOUR opinion, you are NOT correct.
The Constitution does not protect you from illegal activity .
This is not about "illegal activity"
If your video taping ,you are involved in the act.Maybe the people who fight dogs should have to fight for their life against the dogs they fight.
And that is NOT what this ruling is about. Learn to read.
