How come El Paso doesn't have something like this or a bigger balloon fest like Albuquerque does with all the other sources of entertainment in the Fair Grounds and vendors, etc.? How come we don't have a beer manufacturer in this City where the greater majority of the preferred beverage is Beer?

If you can't find wine here in Deming, you aren't looking for it! You can find all kinds of awesome wines at Pepper's or make the short drive to the winery just east of town. Heck, I've even ordered wine in the little bar in Starmax & had great wine....

Well, I see that you are from Dumas, Texas! All my life, I've heard Texans say how horrible New Mexico is! Usually, they are here fishing or using our natural resources & commenting on how much better Texas is than NM....You rarely EVER hear people from New Mexico bashing Texas. Of course, we have nothing against Texas. We just don't choose to live there, or even visit, usually.

My question is, if ya'll hate New Mexico sooooo much, why don't you just stay in Texas? Then we'd both be happy!!!

Sometimes people travel away from their homes. While they are in other places, they may continue to monitor news from their home state. Sometimes they even comment on that news. And if you think people from NM never say anything bad about Texans, you haven't been to Santa Fe where the sentiment is, stand at the state line and throw us your money.

You're right about that! We say bad things about Texans all the time, usually after they've been here! It's just that the majority of the time when we see Texans they are in NM, running down our State. Such as, "We've got bigger fish in Texas," while they are sitting on the banks of one of our rivers or lakes, fishing! Soooo, we wonder why they are here in the first place. It's insulting, uncalled for and unappreciated!

That would be quite a heave to throw money from the state line all the way to Santa Fe.
They have lackeys near the boarders to pick up the money and send it to them. They are called taxpayers.

Maybe they should stay home. I'm sure Red River, Angel Fire, Taos Ski Valley and all the various casinos would do just fine without the revenue they collect from those unpleasant people. Texans can't ski worth a darn anyway and if they stayed home, there'd be more room for New Mexicans at the slots.

When does El Paso have wine festivals, chili cookoffs, etc. Why don't we have big balloon festivals with vendors, etc? We could use the Collisum grounds or up and down the Rio Grande.....

Hehe. Just caught up with your reply. LOL. I would share some stories about the sophistication or the lack of on the part of some of the locals but I don't want to be offensive.

You know, I've often wondered that myself. Many of the local cooks use cubed chuck in their recipes and sausage which gives it that little extra something. I had some 5 alarm chili recently that had over a teaspoon of tabasco in the pot, but it was a little hot for my taste. Nonetheless, we could have a chili deal with a nice chardonnay tasting or perhaps even a Gewurtztrameiner and everyone would be happy.
YUM!!!!!!! There is a small winery just to the left of Hwy. 54 between Alamogordo and La Luz, New Mexico. The House wine is something to die for. I can't remember the name of the place since I went there only once as a guest. But its somewhere near the Pistachio Farm or maybe it is part of the Farm.

Focus......So, how'd she like it?

Focus.....focus.
Remember when you found out where babies came from?
Or why stuff floats or tax exempt? Whiskey vs. tequila? Remember?

All good questions.

Big picture, baby.
