Wow, LMT is in fact back to good ole boy politics. Firing a fellow who is new on the job and not even giving him a chance. I do not know Prill or live in that Township, but it has been and still is a JOKE!!! Klotz is a political hack with connections. I am sure he needed a job and knew these County Judge appointed, not elected, Commissioners and lobbyed them hard and back stabbing Prill. I really hope that the new manager is replaced upon a real seating of Commissioners from an election by the people. This LMT action is perhaps the worst thing the new Board could have done. All employees of that Township better be ready to be thrown under the proverbial bus, its comming. It is now evident that a little power in anybody's hands is a reason for concern and this new Board is no different. Its a shame it had to come to this that employees trying to do their best are pushed out the door.
I WA TELLING RICK FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS TO GO TO CHARM SCHOOL ..HE HAS ISSUES AND IS NOT SUITABLETO BE THE MANAGER.. PLAIN AND SIMPLE ... RICK IS TO PRICKLY SO GUESS WHAT YOUR FIRED..i SAY GOOD RIDDANCE

Township Managers know the gig when they sign on...that is why he received 3 months pay....we get it in our contract before we start a position.....I do not know Mr. Prill but do understand that politics typically dictate ones fate....as a manager focus on serving the residents and do not get cozy with any elected official. This poor guy must have known that he was a "dead man walking" when the referendum was passed

That "lmt for change" group did a good job convincing everyone that first class was the way to go. Don't we have 10 mill in a reserve fund? Hopefully the new government doesn't look at that as spending money for new projects. And there's no reason to introduce a municipal tax.

Unfortunately we have to wait out the "legally set forth process". This is exactly what makes this a disaster and not a democracy- government deciding what government is to do...not the people.
In addition the new "govenment" has decided to increase our budget to hire unecessary positions. This will no doubt increase our taxes. Now if you are someone who thinks taxes are good than I cannot argue with you...but if you don't like taxes and their ramifcations that I ask you look at the big picture behind this so called first class.

We are a joke! We were the fastest growing township in PA, bigger than the city of Easton. And now we are a "first class" township and what are we lacking?? A POLICE DEPT. Yadda yadda yadda we are Lower Macungie big deal. We need a police department!!From what I understand we could have a full department like Upper Mac for around 2 million a year. Their taxes did not go up! And that cheaper than any other larger police department around!

The commissioners are doing an excellent job. You ignorant individuals who want to go back to the old way - get over it we are not going back. It time I tell you all whats really going on.

It is a simple process where you get rid of the bad links in the chain, one link - step - at a time until the chain is strong again. The first step is restore confidence with the finanacial status of the township. The commisioners are doing a great job with this step. Step 2 - go after the real culprits- Marge's relatives who aided and abetted in this theft Step 3 - Get rid of dead weight like Mr. Prill who would only shuffle the problems back to the commissioners instead of himself Step 4 - Get rid the existing consultants. By the way readers -- did you know that Jim Lansek works for Keystone Engineering not the Township and represents Catasauqua also? How does one individual represent the true interests of the township when they really do not work for the Township. Also, other employees work for Keystone, who work for the township. Step 5 - hire a person experienced in planning and zoning who represents the townships goals, not their companies goals Step 6- start an EAC Finally step 7 remove the final bad link - the existing solicitor and make sure they hire a township manager who is proven to get the job done.

Having had numerous unpleasant encounters with Rick Prill when I was trying to work with the township to resolve a specific issue, I'm relieved that our new Commissioners also realized that his "style" is not appropriate to represent our township. He behaved like an attack dog whenever I or my neighbors tried to talk with him and he actually tried to deceive us about the process we needed to follow in order to have our issue placed on the public meeting agenda. What a creep! Good riddance, Prill.
lol "his style is not appropriate to represent our township"???!!!! I'm sorry, but I find that funny.

Perhaps YOUR "style" elicited his reaction to you.

Since the Morning Call chooses to restrict residents comments concerning the embezzelment of 2.55 million Dollars and the other identies of Lehigh County Water Authority, Lehigh County Soil Conservation and the Lehigh County Judical system this with other problems that have been swept under the rug by LMT supervisors, the TRUTH will never come to LIGHT.
The investigation needs to look at the whole story because each chapter tells its own story.
The post i made that the MORNING CALL SWEPT UNDER RUG IS PERTINENT IN EACH CASE.
This whole investigation goes back to Robert E Lee and the Supervisors. This was a closely held SCAM and when Robert E Lee gave himself a GOLDEN PARASHUTE upon retirement,( this should of alerted the auditors ) and moved out of state with the loot that TAXPAYERS are still paying for. Marge took over the cooked books and because the Lehigh County Judical authority chose not to bring her to trail STINKS and its has do do with PASS THE LOOT.

While $700,000 seems like a lot of money to the individual citizen...in Lower Mac's budget it only represents a 4.5% increase. Which may very well be covered by increased revenue. For example, the township expects increased revenue from the pool this year. The commissioners are also pursing a grant worth nearly $250K.( http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-b3_5farr-... ). They are also attempting to recover more of the money stolen by Marge Szulborski by going after the family members that she alledgedly gave money to. http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-marge0221...
Now if you are someone who thinks taxes are good than I cannot argue with you
I believe that a certain level of taxes are necessary. In general, I believe that we are over-taxed.

I believe you may be the one failing to see the big picture.

I'm thankful there hasn't been any 'municipal tax' since 2002 - having lived elsewhere the taxes here are relatively low. However, should they find it necessary to resurrect that tax - I think all of LMT will be in for sticker shock.

I think it would be very ill advised for the current commissioners--being that they are appointed, not elected, to implement such a big change as a local police force.

Lancsek USED to work for Keystone years ago BEFORE he was hired to work for the township - get your facts straight.

The point is that Jim worked for Keystone during the time that he represented the township as an engineer and that connection still exists today. No one person can be a zoning officer, building code enforcement officer, planner and still have time to properly represent another municipality as a zoning officer and have time to run as county commissioner. While Jim may have a good heart and his intentions are sincere, the point is that LMT of 26,000 is not being served like it should be. One person cannot perform all these functions and still serve the public properly. Why does his admin staff still work for Keystone Eng? Get your facts straight! Keystone is overly involved in the day to day operations of LMT. My point in this rant is that no engineering consultant firm should have day to day operational control of the twsp and its admin staff for each appointed position. IT is wrong and must be changed. That is why Marge got away with money because their was not enough support staff to catch the embezzlement because they worked for Keystone, not the twsp. The commissioners are on their way to correct this and Mr. Klotz will help will see this through and make the appropriate changes. In other words, the twsp was ran like when the fox was let loose in the chicken coop and the hens are still running around looking for a way out.

It amazes me that LMT takes so much heat from outsiders. It must be jealousy, but even that I can't fully understand as there are many areas of the valley much more affluent than LMT (saucon valley, nazareth area, much of the parkland sd, west allentown, etc.) LMT is a great place to live and raise a family, and the taxes are relatively low.
Maybe its BECAUSE of the fact that LMT is such a nice place that it confuses non-residents as why it persistently make headlines for the problems it experiences operating its government.

I can't think of any other township in Lehigh County that has gone through this type of political ordeal over the last 3-4 years or so. Lower Macungie is a truly wonderful place, no doubt but why all the melodrama there?

As for being jealous, I'm not. Miles of brick-fronted, beige-vinyl-sided French Provincial McMansions with Palladian foyer windows overlooking cul-de-sacs are great. Congratulations to those who have worked hard to enjoy that type of community. Personally, I think its a little monotonous architecturally.

"On Tuesday, attorney Donald Wieand Jr. filed summonses in Lehigh County Court against Richard Szulborski of Wescosville, David Szulborski of Lower Macungie and George Sheese of Whitehall Township."

Richard is dead. His wife Pat lives in East Texas, not Wescosville. His daughter Heather supposedly posted in an article some time ago. I'd bet Pat's current house was purchased with some of the money. Pat is a laborer and Richard, when alive, did not work. He was a Viet Nam vet. All he did was drink Corona's all day long. The house was purchased with cash.

My mistake. The Richard mentioned in the article is her husband. She also had a son named Richard.
