As a landlord, I do not have utilities turned off when rental vacant- With zero water usage the monthly bill is still charged the sewer fees- full charge. No discount for non use. They need to be audited and investigated.

You can pretty much count on any and all public municipalities being sold to private companies to further gouge you.
When they're bought and sold under the guise of "the public will benefit with cheaper rates".
It just another sales pitch to legally gouge.
First thing they do is hit up the "bought and paid for regulatory commission for rate increases" Claiming operating costs and inflation. They give the CEO, Vps, and board of directors huge perks, stock options, company vehicles, luxurious office spaces, and slide it all in on the operating side like they'll lose money if they don't get the increase.
Its a huge shell game and consumers pay for it.

All public utilities should be municipally owned, nor should they be allowed to be publicly traded for a profit. Their profit is your higher rate increase.

Start sending letters to the CEOS and VPs house and to your legislatures, it wont stop unless you do something about it.
The attorneys will sue, you'll get a check for 50 bucks after being hosed for hundreds and the attornies will make millions.

Its great to have an attorney general who does nothing.

I too have been a victim of their over pricing. Every month I would have to call and complain about how high my bill was. I am glad somebody has brought this to light and is suing them!

There is something about a meter man in a uniform I find very attractive.

I've noticed the same things about my water bills. It seems I'm using less and paying more. It comes down to a minimum charge. Its like a previous poster said the highest bill becomes the only bill even if you're gone for thirty days and use none. Thats what happens when foreign companies are allowed to own municipalities. Its gouge and gouge some more. No foreign entity should be allowed to own municipal companies. Its a form of terrorism/abuse.

You need water to drink, bathe and clean your dishes and clothes.

What did we do in the 'olden' days when water was FREE?

I called to inquire about the increase to my bill October,2009 and was informed that I have not been charged a water volume charge since 2007 and that this issue had to resloved by ajusting my bill from 2007 to the present date. Every month my meter has been read by their professionals and I was never been notified of their equiptment faliure. Why does the custome have to pay for their inability to do their job? Money is their only goal, not customer service. Customers are their money.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Pisces

You're thinking along very inventive lines today, which is brilliant if you're trying to decide what you want to achieve in 2010. Get out a notebook or diary and start jotting down your ideas, so there's no danger of forgetting them. Discussing some of your plans with someone you respect could lead to even more brainwaves, and will assure you of their moral and emotional support.
