Dear Dr. Melanie McGavern.
Thank You so much for your understanding, help, and knowledge in the recent death of our beloved pet.“ Girl “ was a beautiful Collie and a member of our family for 12 years. She had protracted medical problems for the last 4 or 5 years. Dr. Melanie had always been there for Girl and our family.
She is a wonderful, caring, loving person who is there for you when you need her the most. Girl had trouble with her hip and Dr. Mel put her on pain medication and occasional injections to control the inflammation and pain. Thanks to Dr. Mels excellent care we enjoyed having our loving pet many years more then we would have. Finally the time came when “ Girl “ went in to kidney failure and Dr. Mel stood by us to help us and consul us on what she thought was best for our beloved pet but never forced any choices on us. She was there to support our decisions as long as she felt it was in the best interests of our pet. Dr. Mel loves animals and would never euthanize an animal for economic or convenience reasons but only to alleviate the final suffering of an animal. She cried with us at the death of our pet when she came to our house to help end girls suffering when it was clear that there was no longer any hope of our precious pet recovering. Thank You Dr. Mel for being there for us and Girl. You are a wonderful, intelligent, talented, and caring person. Through your hard work and study you have made the world a better place.

I fully agree with the above comment. Both Dr. Mel and Dr. G have been great. Thanks to Dr. G's early diagnosis of lymphoma of our Brandi we had her for an additional 3 years. He recommended a place in Tampa to take her for her chemo and after six month of treatment, she was with us 3 more years in remission. Dr. Mel and Dr. G have always made time for us when we would call and felt we needed help with our best friend. She is truly missed, but Zephyrhills Veterinary Clinic provides excellant care. Their staff is also very pleasant and caring.
