There needs to be a Wendell by-pass connecting HWY 231 just inside Johnston County to the Wendell Falls/ 64 HWY. Just trying to do anything like turning onto side roads or leaving the Food Lion in Wendell during the morning and afternoon is almost impossible.

They could widen the Wendell Blvd road from the McDonald's to the Hephzibah Church. or take exit 432 (Lizard Lick road) to come into Wendell. Be sure to turn right at Hanor Ln so as to make a left turn onto Wendell Blvd.(Only in Wendell do you have to turn the wrong way in order to go the correct way.)

Actually I drive I-40 out to RTP every day and since they got rid of the Cary bottleneck it's not too bad... that one project took about 15 min off my drive to work!

Next they need to tackle the bottleneck between what is now business US 70 and the US 70 Clayton bypass, followed by the interchange with the Beltline and I-40 East.

A much smaller project that should be done is extending Evans Road in Cary to Airport Road.

Another big improvement that needs to be done is on the 440 HWY between Wade Ave. and HWY 40. That includes the Western BLVD, Hillsborough St and Jones Franklin Rd exits.

Its a nightmare on the Western BLVD ramps with cars getting on the HWY on the left while cars on the right exit off.

That's the oldest section of the Beltline and hasn't been changed significantly since it opened in the 60's, that's why it's so different from modern standards.

The DOT is planning on starting work to widen that in 2018.
