This was a case of bad judgement, not manslaughter. Legislators have made so many laws that cause injustices like this. They alone have done much to fill our prisons unnecessarily. And prosecutors probably love it.

You're part right! It was not manslaughter, it was MURDER. The one boy had developmental issues and COULD NOT get out of the tent and walk (with shoes he couldn't put on) for the distance claimed. The issue in the retrial WAS, the half baked JUDGE did not let the professional WITNESS in with the TRUTH about the boys. YES the justice system is a farce.... But M county let a man who MURDERED two children, walk...
