can someone give me some suggestion to help me. my husband has been upstanding citizen, has held same job with same company for 6 years now, pays childsupport for three kids and supports wife and stepchild, he had missed court date for different charge in baton rouge that was suspended with time served, judge lonnie miles, brought an old charge from 2004, charged with new charge criminal trespassing and gave him 270 days in jail with no fine. According to LSA-R.S. 14:63 on first offense trespassing fine is No less than $100, no more than $500 fine or 30 days in jail, or both. Can someone help me understand why a judge would sentence a working citizen and cause him to lose his job, and now in threat of his family being evicted because his wife is disabled, would give him such a hoarse sentence that is well and above what the la law allows for his crime
