Council rules on Copper Mill, ZFest to serve beer, wine

The Zachary City Council received a quarterly update and a 2011 year-end review from Randy Olson and Chip Mills, of the Zachary Economic Development Commission, at its Dec.

I don't think it is wise or proper to be serving a drug like alcohol where children and young adults will be. More lives are lost or ruined by this drug than all illegal drugs combined. It is highly addictive and people with children will be driving away from this event, and what about the ciy liability at the event where people will be high or drunk. I think this encourages alcohol consumption among our young people and tells them it is part of having a good time, too many of them will have a problem with alcohol anyway. I think people at this event should do it straight without the drug alcohol for the kids. Please, the alcohol people can do without that drug for this brief time for the children and the other people on the road. If alcohol is going to be served at least have the sheriff's office their checking all before they leave with a breathalizer for intoxication. Being drunk in public I believe is against the law.
