This happens to be the most ignorant use of power I have ever seen. Anybody that has created or restored a 40 year old car KNOWS you may have to use a new body. So what do you do? You buy and old rusted useless car, replace all the necessary parts, and if that includes the location of the VIN plate, then you transfer the VIN plate to the new location.

Are these OSBI people just stupid, or just need to protect their phony bologna jobs?

This is a waste of reporting time and our tax dollars. Did they check to see if there was a title for every VIN plate/car? If so and everything checks out, they why try and hurt the guy and his employees?

This shows a lack of intelligence to the nth degree times infinity. Poor job OSBI!

Are you young? Perhaps, looking for a job.. huh.?
Wait until Obama legalizes 12-20 million illegals, and gives work permits for them.
Your $10-12 / hour dream job will fly out the window.
Illegals will take those jobs for minimum wage. Where are YOUR opportunities then?
Is this fair? That's what you just said...

That's what this whole thing is about...period! Jealous, ignorant lowlifes. They even have the nerve to post here! None of us are saints! OSBI and the media has passed judgement on him without gathering all he facts. For one, you try operating a business like this! Anyone in this business knows the kind of worthless, crack head employees you have to deal with and all their BS!(no disrespect to the actual professionals) I've been an owner myself and will NEVER do it again just for that reason! It's a huge babysitting job! And yes, Jason is a friend of mine and always will be, whether he did something wrong or not doesn't change that! If the people in this world would support each other in their time of need it might be a better place to live...

These guys are working for a buck and the buyers know exactly what they're getting. Stop harrassing hard-working Oklahomans and start protecting us from the drug pushers and violent criminals. OSBI should be ashamed for going the easy route of taking down good citizens instead of getting off of their butts to make a difference where it matters!

Shut down another home grown business. We should be buying our classic cars from China - their knock offs are legal here.

OK, they take an authentic Mustang VIN and assign it to a new reproduction body. The origional body is presumably scrapped. This could be argued that this is a "repair". The particular VIN is not affixed to two different Mustangs.

I also find this Enforcement Action against a business owner, that is producing wealth and adding to the GDP by virtue of his talent and skills disturbing in light of the total LACK of enforcement against the perpetrators of the financial fraud that has stolen Trillions from the United States Citizens, and greatly affected the quality of life in this Country for generations to come.

Government IS the problem, not the solution. I don't see a violation. This is a repair. Not laundering stolen cars.

Thanks Dave for understanding this situation. Most lay people don't understand this business so it's easy to come to false conclusions. You are correct, they are replacement parts, nobody is "switching" anything, just repairing the old subframe with a new one. Thanks again for all the positive comments...

Interesting fact: August of 2008 NEWS9/Daily Oklahoman ran a Headline Article on this business owner and the great work he was doing and how successful he was, people were happy, waiting list for his products, etc.

If he were doing something ILLEGAL, don't you THINK they would have spotted it then? Just wondering... why did it take almost two years to find the crime, it seems like this would be an 'open/shut case' if it were as easy & simple as the story says.

I agree with you, Tony. Let the full story come out and there will be some red-faced reporters around this web-site. Not the first time this has happened here, either. It's far too easy to accuse these days and even harder to prove legit wrongdoing. But the damage has been done... very sad...

Leave it to the damn cops to go after someone trying to bring whats left of a old mustang with the modern parts to save a piece of american history and give someone their dream car, even witha replacement body shell you need a donor car to build it so its part of the old car also......Im sure the drug dealers and illegals coming up into your state are glad they are after the big bad musclecar guys....what a bunch of selfserving jerks, watch them buy them at auction for themselfs!

Cocaine dealers also add to GDP.

Yes, the VIN is still attached to two cars, the phony one and the destroyed one. When a car is destroyed, the VIN needs to be destroyed as well.

You want to build a car? Go down to the DMV and apply for a VIN.

What happens when the car gets sold a few times? The VIN becomes washed and we now have a flat-out phony car. The only "original" part being a little piece of tin?

I have two responses to this remark, depending on "what" activity you are referring to.

A: In reference to the business owner that is legitimately producing wealth (125K cars) and employment that will be taxed as income, vehichle license fees, interest payments on the money borrowed to purchase them, etc for years to come as the result of a legitimate repair procedure? Ie, producing economic output?

B: In reference to the Enforcers CARRYING GUNS ON THEIR WAIST that entered said Business and confiscated private property, denying the owner of his right to continue his private pursuance of income and happiness in the guise of enforcing "laws" that are so vague as to require "further investigation? And effective putting his employees in the same position?

BTW
Dycorn bodies come with their own VIN number - the reason smart OK Shelby man was removing VINs from real cars is that on the titles it would not show as a real Mustang - it would show as a 2010 kit car - makes it worth a whole lot less - less money for him and Shelby
