Well, it looks like their going to enlarge the investigation into the IRS and check all of the non-profit statuses.

Told ya..

IRS Sent Same Letter to Democrats That Fed Tea Party Row

The Internal Revenue Service, under pressure after admitting it targeted anti-tax Tea Party groups for scrutiny in recent years, also had its eye on at least three Democratic-leaning organizations seeking nonprofit status.

Tax agency officials told lawmakers in a briefing yesterday that 471 groups received additional scrutiny, a total that indicates a crackdown on politically active nonprofit groups that extends beyond the Tea Party outfits.

Broader Hearings

Some lawmakers on Capitol Hill and campaign finance watchdog groups are pressing to expand congressional hearings to encompass everything the IRS is doing concerning nonprofits, including whether such groups should be allowed to spend money on political efforts at all.

Oh, the good ole days...

IRS Ends 2-Year Probe Of NAACP's Tax Status

By Darryl Fears
Washington Post Staff Writer

Friday, September 1, 2006

Nearly two years after a controversial decision to investigate the NAACP for criticizing President Bush during the 2004 presidential campaign, the Internal Revenue Service has ruled that the remarks did not violate the group's tax-exempt status.

In a letter released yesterday by the NAACP, the IRS said the group, the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization, "continued to qualify" as tax-exempt.

If the NAACP were stripped of the status, donors would not be allowed to claim contributions to the group on income tax returns.

This is what will hang the Tea Party:

Federal law requires tax-exempt nonprofit organizations to be politically nonpartisan.

Remarks and videos that aired during election which were misrepresenting the facts but hey since it was against a republican must be ok.

WASHINGTON -- In the 27 months that the Internal Revenue Service put a hold on all Tea Party applications for non-profit status, it approved applications from similar liberal groups, a USA TODAY review of IRS data shows.

As applications from conservative groups sat in limbo, groups with obviously liberal names were approved in as little as nine months. With names including words like "Progress" or "Progressive," these groups applied for the same tax status and were engaged in the same kinds of activities as the conservative groups.

The controversial, 3-year-old strategy to manage the increasing number of political groups seeking tax-exempt status came under fire Tuesday. The agency's own inspector general blamed IRS leadership for "ineffective management."

The Justice Department wants to know if that was more than just mismanagement. Calling the IRS' actions "outrageous and unacceptable," Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that he has asked the FBI to investigate. "We're examining the facts to see if there were any criminal violations," he said.

It just keeps coming. Tell us again how Obama and his campaign weren't involved?

One of President Barack Obama's re-election campaign co-chairmen used a leaked document from the IRS to attack GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney during the 2012 election, according to the National Organization for Marriage (NOM).

NOM, a pro-traditional marriage organization, claims the IRS leaked their 2008 confidential financial documents to the rival Human Rights Campaign. Those NOM documents were published on the Huffington Post on March 30, 2012. At that time, Joe Solmonese, a left-wing activist and Huffington Post contributor, was the president of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Solmonese was also a 2012 Obama campaign co-chairman.

Both the Huffington Post's Sam Stein and HRC described the leak as coming from a “whistleblower.” The Huffington Post used the document to write a story questioning former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney’s support for traditional marriage. The document showed Romney donated $10,000 to NOM. HRC went a step further than the Huffington Post in its criticism of Romney and accused him of using “racially divisive tactics” in a press release.

Solmonese, then still the HRC’s president, said in the release he felt Romney’s “funding of a hate-filled campaign designed to drive a wedge between Americans is beyond despicable.”

“Not only has Romney signed NOM’s radical marriage pledge, now we know he’s one of the donors that NOM has been so desperate to keep secret all these years,” Solmonese added.

Solmonese resigned his position at HRC the next day and took up a position as an Obama campaign co-chair. He had announced the then-pending resignation from HRC the previous autumn.

NOM announced Tuesday that it will sue the IRS for this alleged leak. Under immense political pressure, Attorney General Eric Holder launched a criminal investigation into the IRS's actions. Congress will conduct ts own investigation.

In early April 2012, NOM published documents which it said showed this leaked confidential information did not come from a “whistleblower” but “came directly from the Internal Revenue Service and was provided to NOM's political opponents, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).”

NOM discovered that when HRC published its confidential financial documents, it failed to conceal the source of the documents.“After software removed the layers obscuring the document, it is shown that the document came from the Internal Revenue Service,” NOM asserted in its April 2012 release.

“The top of each page says,‘THIS IS A COPY OF A LIVE RETURN FROM SMIPS. OFFICIAL USE ONLY,’" the statement continues. "On each page of the return is stamped a document ID of ‘100560209.’ Only the IRS would have the Form 990 with ‘Official Use’ information."

IRS. DOJ, military, secret service, Pentagon, EPA, CIA, State Dept, and FBI all have scandals and Congress is trashed at every turn, but yet Obama is not responsible for any of it. This is purposeful. And there is still another shoe to drop CIA source says. This man needs to be removed

That's rich...., True to Vote, Catherine Englebrecht, was a victim of discrimation by the IRS after applying for (501)C4 and (501)C3 status. The group received an unprecedented level of scrutiny. Exhaustive questioning beyond what is legally required then shortly after applying the Englebrecht's had surprise visits from the FBI, ATF (both Dept of Justice agencies)which asked for information on all people they had contact with, ATF audited their firearms business records, IRS was auditing business/personal taxes, and then guess who shows up unannounced? OSHA which opens an audit. A average citizen who has never had any issues paying correct taxes and following all regulations by state of federal agencies suddenly is investigated and audited by every federal agency, hardly coincidental.

This all began shortly after applying for (50)C4 and (501)C3 status with the IRS. I would encourage everyone to google True to Vote activities during the election process to see what activity they are associated.

Let's all remember Obama's half brother operated for 4 years without necessary legal status and somehow was APPROVED within a month,(after he finally applied)by the IRS and his application was retro-active.

AMAZINGLY BLATANT ABUSE, by the IRS. But this isn't limited to just the IRS since evidence is coming in for several different agencies are being used by this Administration to further progressive liberal agenda. Progressive Liberal entities which applied for the exact same status on average took 90 days for approval. Personal tax information was leaked to opposition entities a clear violation by the IRS. Did anyone wonder how Harry Reid somehow knew very personal details about Opposition Party candidate Mitt Romney? Maybe it's time to question under oath where Harry Reid got his information and who gave it to him.

Glad to see someone has really paid attention to how deep this goes. This is not just about a little extra scrutiny on tax exempt apps. Now it appears the EPA was doing the same thing.

Exactly Maddy...

Obama said: In 3 days we revealed all the facts...
But, in 5 days Rice was saying it was the video, and
Obama was still blaming the video 2 weeks later at the UN.

‘VERY FRIGHTENING’: PROMINENT CATHOLIC PROF. CLAIMS IRS AUDITED HER AFTER SPEAKING OUT AGAINST OBAMA AND DEMANDED TO KNOW WHO WAS PAYING HER

>Noted professor and sociologist Dr. Anne Hendershott claims IRS may have targeted her with a 2010 audit

IRS demanded to know which groups paid her and “what their politics were”
Hendershott believes her articles critical of President Barack Obama’s policies and George Soros’ funding of liberal Catholic groups may have spawned the IRS audit

Audit was emotionally and financially expensive and scared the professor into silence

Obama to GOP: Put Up or Shut Up on DOJ Investigation

White House this morning asked Senator Schumer to reintroduce the media shield bill which died on Senate floor in 2010.

Legislation has been introduced before, and can be introduced again, that would restrict DOJ's ability to target the phone records of media organizations. In 2010, such legislation was introduced, and died when it was filibustered by Republicans in the Senate. More generally, media organizations have been lobbying for a federal shield law for decades, and Congress has been resolutely unwilling to pass one, even though nearly every state has a shield law of one sort or another.

Politically, Obama is basically daring Republicans to put their money where their mouths are. You want to make the DOJ leak investigation into an issue of executive overreach? Fine. Then rein it in. Pass a law making it clear what DOJ can and can't do in leak investigations.

Talk about being in denial!

Where is the teabag outrage about government spending and fiscal responsibility?

The GOP has wasted $52.4 MILLION taxpayer dollars on all of their theatrical productions to repeal Obamacare.

Even the workers who score the CBO have told them to take a hike:

CBO: We Don’t Have Time To Score Another Obamacare Repeal Bill

Plus at the end of the day, we will have a check prepared for the cost of Issa's Benghazi hearings.
