Congratulations on this one to both the O.B.N and Putnam City School District! I don't want drug users teaching my kids, or driving the school bus they ride on; I just plain don't want my kids exposed to this type of illegal behavior.
I have heard all of the excuses of how marijuana is harmless and should be legal, but the bottom line is when you are stoned you can not function at anywhere near your normal potential I would like all drug growers locked up and the key thrown away.
Once again congratulations to O.B.N. and Putnam City School District for a job well done.
You are an idiot. Or a liar...or both.

That has to be one of the most ignoant comments condoning prohibition that I have seen.. Educate yourself. You dont see people buying moonshine because it's more potent than beer do ya? What an idiot.

**ignorant** People WANT to go to the store to buy their pot. I am a pot smoker going on 14 years and I hate dealing with drug dealers. I want to go to the store where it's safe and legal. Let's change the word "beer" in my previous comment to liquor. What happened to all the alcohol traffickers????? Remember the gun toting criminals that used to illegaly traffic liquor and beer?? Now they all work for Budwieser Coors etc., legally... Think about it. duh

just curious, i dont smoke weed but i am not against it being legal. i truly believe it should be because right now meth has taken over the united states and thats what needs to be the main focus, not a plant that is less dangerous then alcohol that can be bought! but for all you on here saying you smoke..how do you work? every job i know drug test. its stupid really. i think people smoking on their own time should not be their employeers business. and also i thought all schools drug test. what if the husband was right and said she had nothing to do with it. what if he was just growing it for his purpose only. its not like they had a room full of plants. all was found was 2!

They should fine her $50 and tell her not to let her husband grow pot where it could get her in trouble again. I have a problem with the way this was reported. In the report, he states she had nothing to do with the pot, but it's not his picture in the report. I guess it's just not exciting to see a non teacher busted for growing marajuana.

You can go to a head shop and get this pouch of fake urin that is made in a factory. It has everything urine has in it. It has a small tube on the pouch... little hand warmer packet comes with it to keep the temp up. snap the clamp and let it flow baby... Price.....$100. Comes with wasteband to hold pouch against you lower stomach. Hell of a deal. It's actually sold as a safe alternative to "golden showers" lmao

There are a lot of good points and a lot of stupidity on this particular topic. I do agree that most smokers would rather pay the tax and pick their bag up at a legitimate store rather than mess around with the dealers.
Even IF she did smoke, it is a stress reliever to most and only lasts a few hours. It's not like if she toked up at bed time she would wake up baked in the morning to teach class.
A lot of people should educate themselves on marijuana. A dried plant, which not only can be used for recreational use, is widely used among cancer patients to increase appetite and decrease vomiting during chemotherapy. It can also be used as a pain reliever for those allergic to commonly used pain killers. Guess what? You hear about people abusing prescription pain killers and DYING from it. People who drink too much can DIE or kill others driving. When is the last time you heard of a pot smoking related death?*crickets chirping*
I thought so.

Ladies and gentlemen I was busted in Maine by the M.D.E.A. at a UPS hub picking of a quarter pound (4 ounces) of weed, while I was on vacation. I went to the police station where they took all my information and wrote me a ticket to come back to court.I was free to go! I have "trafficking in scheduled drugs" a MISDEMEANOR charge. NO JAIL, NO BOND,$1500 to the atty. and $1000 fine to the courts! Why does Oklahoma not do this? NO JAIL TIME FOR POT SMOKERS!!

Indeed...your hypothesis clearly explains the pandemic turf war amongst producers of distilled spirits that is wreaking havoc in our otherwise peaceful highways and byways. Oh, wait...

But it's okay if they drink the legal drug in their own home, right? lol, ignorance has taken over..Hypocrite!
Let's get rid of those neighborhood street dealers by legalizing. Just like we got rid of the Al Capones after ending alcohol prohibition. Let's take away 50 percent of cartel profits by regulating marijuana in the US. Any Violent deaths are a direct result of prohibition.. Saint Valentine's Day massacre being a great example of the violence prohibition unleashes.. If cigarettes were illegal, people would start killing in a tobacco drug war too.Raiding peoples homes, cars, lives for a plant then jailing them is a form of kidnapping and terrorism by the U.S. government.. In conclusion, I believe using something safer than alcohol and tobacco should be a freedom for all Americans.
You are nuts. Drugs are not safe, period. As for alcohol and tobacco don't even start on me with that crap, as I don't use or believe in their use. I have seen what both have done to too many of my friends and family.

Pot is not a safe drug and the people involved in its distribution should all be in jail. Since you think pot is not plagued by violence trying going to southern Arizona and for that matter the communities in California which have legalixed it and see how the crime rate has risen! Again this teacher if found guilty should be under the jail and the key thrown away.

One last question. How many times have you been in jail? I am willing to bet it is more than once!

To ADA, OK I understand your point of not wanting this woman to be in the classroom as being a teacher myself there are certain social norms that you must follow. However, having worked for Putnam City Schools and having had several conversations with this particular teacher I can assure you that there is no reason to place blame on Putnam City. When talking to this teacher there would be no indication of anything illegal going on in her life. I do think if she is allowed to go back to the classroom that it is going to be very hard since I'm sure many parents will want their kids pulled from her class and also I can't imagine her and the embarrassment of showing her face at work. It's a very unfortunate situation.
Did you not read my post? I did not blame Putnam city, in fact I prasied them for not letting this teacher near the children until this is resolved. If she is found guilty then I hope she gets a long jail term because she is the type of teacher I do not want my grandchildren around.

I see the point a few of you are making on here of not wasting tax payer dollars, but I also don't want to waste tax payer dollars paying a stoned teacher. Granted, she was probably selling to subsidize her meager Oklahoma teachers' salary, but I still don't want her in the classroom with my kids. I think we are becoming a very dumbed down nation when we think it is ok to do drugs illegally just to "get high" just because it makes you feel good. I have seen so many people, including my uncle, who has gotten so wrapped up in the getting high that he hasn't done much for the past 30 years or so except for gotten high. I guess there will be abusers and addicts with anything but drugs are not a good answer.
Looks like not too many here get it. What this couple did was illegal, harmful to themselves, and irresponsible to be getting high and teaching even if it was on her own time. You can bet there will be plenty of dolts who disagree with this post, but oh, well. If you break the law, you go to jail. I sure as heck wouldn't want this stoner in the classroom with my kids. I can just imagine some kid with asthma out on the south 40 having an attack and the teacher oblivious to it, neglecting to get his asthma medication in time to save his life. Same thing happened in Lawton last year and the year before. The teacher's judgement was compromised both times by drug use...not while in school, but as a regular routine "on her own time." People don't realize how harmful and lasting the effects of pot are. Been there and done that, but thank goodness I managed to get out of it. And the comparison with alcohol is just stupid. I agree with your comment about our nation being dumbed down, too. Drugs play a major role in that, but when you're in the middle of it, you can't see it and think it's no big deal. Great comment.

Because Oklahoma not only exercises common sense, but understands WHY drug use is not appropriate. Guess we're a tad more mature than some of the other liberal areas of the country that seem to be having a difficult time.
