<quoted text>Yeah, yeah and I think it is a sad day when a town employs a dumbass that would actually issue a ticket to a small child for what happened in this situation!

Is the officer a moron, does he think he is hot stuff, is he on a power trip? I'm telling you folks, if this action is indicative of the officers' reasoning ability, Piedmont will at some point have something much more serious on its' hands to deal with - something that could affect EVERY property owner in town!
I see there's no reasoning with you in regards to this, you obviously can't get past the officer in question. I'm not sure but it sounds as if you have dealt with this officer before and have a personal stake in all this. Heck I don't know, maybe you're related to these people for all I know. Go ahead Jimbo let your kids pee freely in the streets, just like the rest of the third world countries.

No relatives there, don't know anyone there, been there once years ago to watch a high school football game, but..........

I do have an inate ability to spot Dumb Asses and the cop is a shoo in for being identified as one and your close behind with your defense of the fool. You must be related or have a personal interest in the officer. He sure made Piedmont look bad and you come across as being cut from the same mold!

I can see with your so called "innate ability" combined with the rest of the democrats in this country, peeing in the streets is just the beginning of transition into a third world country great job to you and your pals ! No stake in this officer but I'd just like to say you might want to think about what you say. Keep in mind this is one of the guys you call when you find your car burglarized, your front door kicked in, it might not be this same officer BUT it will be one that someone else is pissed off with. Go back to your utopia and be perfect there.

You stated this officer had around 300 complaints? What explanation would a department have in keeping an officer on the force after even 3 valid complaints. I am wanting to know where or from whom did you hear the officer was fired?
I probably should have verified that before stating it. Hey, I'm not much different then most other people. However, it was a vehicle repair man who told me this. He SEEMED to have some good connections in the town, but I really don't know. I also gather that the 300 complaints were in response to folks rallying behind this woman and calling in for her, to complain about that particular incident, though that I also don't know. I just assume that because 300 complaints in one night seemed a bit difficult for ANYONE to manage, even if he may very well be the biggest a$$hole in the department.

It was on news nine that I read that the police chief basically sided with the woman, and promised the ticket would be thrown out. That in perspective makes the termination rumor appear to hold muster.

It's time the whole truth came out about this situation. This officer called his supervisor while on scene to get their take on if he made the correct call on writing this ticket. The Captain said he was fine with him writing the ticket. Why is the Captain not under scrutiny over this matter? It seems like the city is trying to discipline the wrong person. There are supervisors in place to keep stuff like this from happening and that supervisor was called and he gave his ok for this to happen. If the city would conduct a proper investigation into the matter they would find that this supervisor has dropped the ball numerous times in recent years. I'm hoping that a story will be printed soon that will expose yet another case that this supervisor has shown poor judgement. The city is trying to fire the wrong person. You people have said that people should be held responsible for their actions. Well those actions were run through a supervisor and THAT supervisor said it was ok to have written the ticket. I hope the city holds that supervisor responsible for his actions or should I say, lack thereof and a continuation of his poor judgement.

There was an article about this in yesterdays Piedmont paper. Supposedly, the family in question had numerous complaints made against them. The cop, officer Qualls, said that several requests were made for a police officer to patrol that area. After the citation was given, the police chief became upset over what he considered inappropriate conduct on the part of Qualls and misuse of the badge. According to the paper, he wanted to fire Qualls, but due to town rules and policy, officer Qualls is scheduled to have a hearing on the issue where he can then present his side of the case. The numerous complaints from all over the country no doubt did NOTHING to help this officers situation.
It's sounds like this family in question is rather trashy, or at least it LOOKS like that from my vantage point. It also sounds like the officer maybe lost his temper a bit with handling the situation. It's kind of obvious that cooler heads did not prevail.
What frustrates me is how the paper made it look like Piedmont is overly obsessed with IMAGE. Almost every comment they had from an official in the case involved their fears about how Piedmont would LOOK to outsiders. While it's good to take pride in your community, an over preoccupation with image is NOT good either.

Peedmont is up to two dumbasses. More if you go up the hiring line. Both the officer and captain should go.

You taxpayers (read that property owners) should be worried about the decision making ability of your police force in the event of a serious incident that might require some common sense. Your collective necks and pocket books are what is really on the line.

I feel like going over to his house and use a fake Wizinator and pee on his lawn. What a Tard Dooshbag.

Who cares about a 3 yr old wizzin' on a bush in his own yard, you cant see anything. Also the fact that the cop didnt actually see any urine or the tiny pecker.

What a laughing stock. Go be a mall cop and bust people for taking coins from the water fountain or littering in the food court.

There are several cops on this force who think they know it all and like to show their authority. Hope they have learned a lesson from one of their own. The citizens are tired of their Gestapo tactics!
