Custer this comment just goes to show why this country is going to hell. First off did you know that the chicken is exempt from the humane slaughter act of 1958, the reason is they are not as aware of what's going on such as say a pig, horse, dog, etc...Also that the only documented study ever done on cockfighting proves that cockfighters are law abiding, God fearing, honest hard working Americans, also that they do not do it for the gambling they do to maintain a breed of gamefowl (American cocker 1974 to 1991 ). Cockfighting is over 3000 years old and to say it isn't part of our cultural heritage is just stupid. Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln & several of our forefathers all was involved with gamefowl. The HSUS argues that slavery was once part of our heritage also but to compare African Americans to a chicken is a bold & also very racial statement. Another study proves that gamefowl are NOT forced to fight they do it naturally to the death with or without human interference. All these felony states are putting chickens above human life, we as Americans have the rights to defend our life, liberty & property with force & yet we don't do anything violent just because we as cockers see hope in our legislature. Ask your self this, if cockfighters are so violent why don't they burn buildings down and threaten human lives like the HSUS & PETA members do? I'll tell you why cockfighting has always been a gentleman's sport so we'll leave the violence to the real criminals. To say that we as cockfighters should put knives on & openly kill each other is the lamest thing I have ever herd. Most cockfighters have fought against humans in every conflict America has had, so how many battles have you been in? How many months have you not seen your family? And now we that protected this country with our lives are all of a sudden being put in prison and barred as criminals. The government trains killers but that's ok? People like you make me sick, you set back and judge something you have no idea about, we cockfighters have seen prejudice, discrimination and to loose ones rights is very hard.
Thank you for your time,
Let's put your c*ck in a ring to fight with another c*ck and see how much you like it then, you dumb sh*t.

I was raised in Kentucky and I love going to chicken fights. President Lincoin and Ronald Reagen both accepted cockfighting. How is it ok for people to shoot deer, bears, squirrels.. So why not fight chickens? Poor people make money this way and feed their families this way. It's legal in 3 states so why not every other state? If anyone in control sees this please take it into consideration!!
