Why bother with anything for Grubstakes? The majority of the people who attened the Grubstake Days went to see the rodeo, parade and the demolition derby. It will be a waste of Yucca Valleys time and money to what they have planned for this year. It will be a joke, so don't bother!

Jean, I agree with you. Grubstakes Days will be a flop this year. No one cares enough about it.

Sorry to say that you are all right, it was a total joke, the atmosphere and hometown excitement is gone, the dedication of the many in the past have lost there spark and there is No ambition to concentrate on the parades and the entertainment that was so wonderfull in the past.
It used to be a year long item that many looked forward to each year and planned for it , many from all over southern california and beyond came to it like clock work, the locals looked forward to it and it did do our economy quite well over that holiday weekend.
many would stop on the way to the river and spend some time at our carnivals and streetfair type exibits, and the carnival was still the excitement for all.
but now the town has been too busy to care and the local burocrats seek other monitary excitement to line there pockets, and the local people that dedicated so much to the "GRUBSTAKE DAYS" are now gone and pushed to the back burners, and now the attitude that we saw since actions are stronger than words is "well we can get by with a slapped together parade that just clogs the highway anyway, attitude, and the cheapest carnival we could spare to stop by for a minute and have pitty on our town.
Alas GRUBSTAKE DAYS IS A THING OF THE PAST,it would take alot to bring it back.

It's sad, growing up it was so exciting (Around 1980-1990)when Grubstakes Days came. As the years past, it became more like a Dirty Run Down Toothless Runnin Carnival. It's better known as Dirt Days instead of grubstakes days. I havent gone in years. Not since 1992.
