Obviously you are holier than thou and must have never made a mistake in your life. Unfortunately there are many people out there that do make mistakes like trying drugs and getting addicted, and from there on make many more mistakes supporting there habit. Notice that one of these men was also under the influence. These guys clearly deserve a punishment for breaking the law, but whats is insane is that they will probably serve twice the amount of time in jail as a child molester would, and putting them away will DO NOTHING to stop the drug problem affecting our society. Instead about $100,000 a year of California tax dollars will be spent on keeping the 3 of them in prison. Do you really think locking them up for life benefits society as a whole in the long run. Step out side your self for a moment and see there is a whole lot more wrong with society. I don't have an answer to the problem but locking up all three of them for life isn't the answer. And it is a lot cheaper to treat addiction than it is to lock all the addicts up for the rest of there lives.
I agree that the money that it cost to put someone in prison could be better used with a rehab , with real doctors an medical staff that understands addiction. some people wlll never be helped, but prison for some just makes them into better crimals. Look at the prisons, they are run by gangs, the guards are just babysitters who's lives are in danger everyday. Drug addiction is a diesase an only the rich can afford the treatment that is needed. There should be two types of prisons. One for the dangerous crinmals and one for those who need help

The word is spelled P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L.
Those so concerned with what they perceive to the faults of others seem to so often miss the reeking stench of their own ignorance and hypocrisy.
And I didn't even have to rip of Maya Angelou, Socrates, or anyone for my smart-sounding quote! Plus two bonus points for me.
Well.thank you for the spelling correction. This is like being back in school! You seem more concerned with a great deal of One-upmanship, but not offering many solutions or any real wisdom. It's sad, really.Bonus points for you? well sure,if that's what your game is.Knock yourself out by posting lots of "smart-sounding" quotes:) Sadly, your post is worse than a wet tissue...no substance... Oh and that slang term is R-I-P O-F-F ;)

I think you're mistaking your pretense and pseudo intellect for "solutions" and "real wisdom."

The inability to correctly employ one's own language seriously damages the chances of one being taken seriously by even the most unserious of people, hence my response. Maybe you should go back to school, I hear Cabrillo is great and it's so easily accessible right here in our little community...why not make the most of the opportunity?

I find this off topic as it is not the spelling or the punctuation that is in the media here, it is drug addiction and those injuring the youth, these critical and cynical comment about ones schooling is not accurate as the writer might very well be so passionate of the topic he or she hits send before correcting, please keep your comments to the topic and not the education of the commentator.

Moscow has criticised US-led forces in Afghanistan for failing to eradicate heroin production and warned at the weekend that drug smuggling was endangering Russia’s national security. Russia says production of heroin in Afghanistan has increased almost tenfold since the US-led invasion to oust the Taliban began in 2001.
As drug smuggling across central Asia’s porous borders has soared, Russia has emerged as the world’s biggest per capita user of heroin, consuming about 35 tonnes of the drug a year.
The US has rejected Russia’s call to destroy poppy crops, saying that alienated farmers might join the insurgency.

So how can we stop the flow and use of heroin here locally when it's our own government bringing it in? Not only does the CIA/Military control the production of heroin at its source in Afghanistan, but it has networks all along the way, including directly into our town. They use gangs and even law enforcement to ensure the continued availability of heroin at the local level. Also, Catherine Austin Fitts, a former Reagan appointee and economics expert, talks often about how dependent Wall Street is on drug money. Seems the only way to end this epidemic is to legalize all drugs, taking the illicit money out of the trade, and treat addiction as a health problem, not a criminal problem. It would be a great way to **** off Wall Street and the CIA.
