Yes, he is still alive and in prison. He is in Marquette Branch Prison, Marquetter, Michigan-security level V. Very spooky person-he is most definitely GUILTY. He got life, no chance of parole.

He legally changed his name to John Chapman, trying to get transferred to a Canadian prison, where he would be free now-it was actually granted, but thank God, an alert prisoner leaked it to the press and the public outcry stopped that. that was in 1982. He is still listed under John Norman Collins.

Mary chichi Fleazar , my cousin, was this bastards first kill! The rage I still feel makes me want to visit him and slice his balls off! I realize that is just a fantasy. The feeling remains. I just hope that his roommates there have tortured him to no end! He was a pretty boy in the sixties. I hope he got it up the ass and at least a few shanks to every part of his ugly body! Oh that felt good getting it off my chest. As much as I want to kill him , I rather pray he lives with his yortured mind forever!

Dennis-there is a new book being written about John Norman Collins, will be out maybe later this year-it will be called The Rainy Day Murders by Gregory Fournier-and it will be a blockbuster for sure! There will be things in there not previously known-Collins still says he is innocent and refused requests for an interview deom the author. Google Gregory Fournier and watch his blog-this will be fascinating. And trust me, Collins is paying for what he did.

I am so sorry about your cousin.

I have lived in the area my entire life, and I know Dawn Basom's nephew and also John Collins' nephew. My Mom was growing up during the murders and I used to work with Joe Hall's son and one of the arresting police officers.

I was around 13, Karen rode a horse for Mrs. Cooper at Kentree horse stables, I took care of horses by cleaning there stalls and feeding and watering them. Karen Sue Bineman was a few years older than me and she was dating my older brother at that time. Karen Sue was such a pretty girl and she had a pretty character about her. One day on the way to Kentree Horse stables in Ada, Mi, (I was on the front lawn of the house I lived in 2 houses down from the stables) as Mrs. Cooper and Karen were on their way to the stables, they stopped by and Mrs. Cooper gave me a football, and Karen gave me a cage with a hampster in it. She said his name was Herman, and she got him for me. I will always remember that beautiful moment when God moved the hearts of two very precious people, Karen Sue, and Mrs. Cooper who made me feel special and touched my heart that day. Karen is remembered by me as an angel, both Karen Sue and Mrs. Cooper were blessings sent by God.

I am so truly sorry for all the people affected by this monster. I was 8 at this time and just had my mom pass away. Her death still affects me and it was not in the horrible way these beautiful women died. I can only imagine the anger.
You would think if his own uncle found things wrong and turned him in.. he would know the evidence was against him. I have found this case so interesting...not for the gruesome way he killed but why he thought it was ok. He was so arrogant and thought he had the right to do this and he could get away with it. For some reason it is intriguing to me. I went to school and studied law because of this case.
I just wanted you to know how sorry I am for your loss.
