What types of crabs do you have? Is it crabs legs or the whole blue crab?

Is it all you can eat?

Wanted some seafood tonight.. Ordered the fried shrimp and Oysters... After One hour and ten minute wait ..and total frustration the waitress tells us they have to shuck them... Total disappointed in service tonight. I personally feel maybe at least some hushpuppies on the table as comfort food would have been better than just sitting there.. If they had only communicated better with us we would have ordered something else...

Wow..... My cousin and i are from NJ and as little girls growing up in the north blue crabs was our favorite treats in the summer. News paper, Steamed blur crabs and to ice cold pineapple soda. Nothing compares.... As adults we both now live in the south. I been looking for some steamed blue crabs in my area for as long as been here and just the other week i called capital fish market and inquired about blue crabs the man picked up the phone.... i asked do you guy sale blue crabs he said yes i said steamed he say no..... i was so angry.... so i than ask well do you know of any place around here that might because i call you guy every summer and i get the same answer... he laughted and said try BACKFINS its in Wakeforest........ i called and the first time they was sold out so i called satutday they had some so we order two dozens went to Jorner park and my cousin and i ate them until there was no more left , like we did when we was kids. Thanx Backfins and the service we Great also!

Another Marylander (Actually born in NC & lived most of life in DC area.. moved back to NC 4 yrs ago)

I have made a few trips out to Backfins (about an hour for me). I guess the fact that I'd drive an hour to get there says a mouthful. I have gone and gotten my crabs to go as well as sat down for the feast. I'll say this: there's nothing negative to be said. I won't say that I've never had any better than Backfins, but you gotta be realistic. Seafood is subjective like that. Some days you can find larger crabs than others. It's the nature of the beast. And NOBODY in Maryland puts the biggest & best up for "all you can eat". In fact, nobody anywhere does it. Does anybody really think that the quality of food at the local buffet is top-notch?
And if your crabs get cold, ask them to bring fewer per trip.. or eat them faster. Anything gets cold when it sits long enough. I will admit that the seafood in Maryland is SUPERIOR to the seafood in NC, but Backfins does NOT take a backseat to anyplace I've been. The only thing I'd specifically prefer over them is to cook them myself!

The best crab cake in the world. We tried seafood spots in Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, DC, FL, Bahamas, Cruise Ships, Jamacia, NY, Dallas etc and there is no comparison. A plus,

We moved here from Maryland and finding restaurants around here worthy of calling themselves crabhouses has been difficult to say the least, but Backfins in Wake Forest is TRULY a top notch crab house!!! The crabs were amazing!!!!!!!! If you like good crabs, I strongly suggest you go to Backfins!!!

My Girlfriend and I went out there Saturday. and it was the worst experience I have ever had. First there was a 45 minute wait, then we ordered 1/2 doz. oysters and clams raw at the bar, they bought us steamed. And the bartender did not make our drinks right and then they gave us bloody mary mix instead of hot sauce. I wanted a dozen steamed crabs and I was told that they had to be reserved in advance when I am watching people eating crabs. Our waitress Dena was very slow and forgot that we were at our table. We had to wait about 35 minutes just to place our order. The men's room was filthy one stall with urine all over the toilet seat and very unsanitary. Overall, I will never go back there again based on my experience. A customer came in there and paid $ 242.44 for 3 dozen crabs.... There is no way this place is over priced and the service is lousy.
