I feel all open burning in Derry should be outlawed, How do the rest of you feel about it?

Stop the burn, I agree! but Burn the council for amending something they never inforced! or wait, thye hired people to enforce these laws, and now need another part time person to enforce what the full time person is not willing to do. Confused, well so am I, but simple to follow up with. Smoke and mirror governmental issue at best!

The right thing to do is to stop all open burning period. I'm sick and tired of not being able to open my windows and enjoy the fresh air, instead I have to smell smoke. Stop the burning.

The other day I could not open my windows at all because of smoke smell so I took a ride in my car and found out just who was buring and it was 3 blocks down from me. This is one reason why burning should not be allowed they were 3 blocks away and I couldn't open my windows because so0meone 3 blocks down was smoking everything up burning garbage and wet leaves.

I've never liked the open burning here in town. If Merlin banned burning why can't it be doen now? Even the DEP says open burning isn't allowed yet we have it here in Derry. It's time it's stopped once and for all. It's also time they enforce the law thats on the books that people have garbage service. If people had garbage service most of the burning won't be happening anyhow.

The ones on council who do not want burning to stop, are the ones who are burning? Simple resolution to this problem is to burn them out, I mean vote them out of office, just think 37 more days of this comic relief group they call Council!

It's going to be pretty hard to vote them out when almost no one is running against them, and they know that so they just keep doing the same things no one wants year after year as they know no one will run against them.

Lets just stop all the burning.

There are new names on the ballot this time, vote them out, or write in a few of your own, at least the current ones will get less value and be gone!

Ban the burning and do the whole town a huge favor.

It's 10Pm and I'm still smelling smoke from the other side of the bridge. It's time to stop this open burning.

How about just allowing one month of open buning in lte spring and month month of open burning say mid october thu mid november and no burning at all the rest of the time.

Open burning in Derry should have been done away with years ago. Most areas around us don't allow it and it's time Derry doesn't also.

Really, burning is a great way of getting rid of wast. People just need follow the scheduled burn days, because eliminating burning completely is really not going to happen.

Burning was never meant to be used as a way to get rid of household garbage actually you not to be burning that stuff now.

Getting rid of burning in Derry is long over due and it should be donbe now. A late spring and fall burn is all that should be allowed and anyone found to be burning household garbage shopuld be fined.

Yes, but some people may bag their leaves and grass and put them out for the garbage if burning is outlawed. And that is a new ordinance that has been passed, how exatly do you expect people to know that burning cardboard is against the law in Derry? Or are we just going to had out fines to everyone who burns a piece of paper that didn't know they were breaking the law?!?!

Outlawing burning is just ridiculous, and my question is why is it such an issue to you? I live in Derry and only burn about once a month, but have never had a problem with the smell or smoke in the area during burn days, so in my opinion that reason is bogus!

People if you really want the open burning stopped in Derry start calling the EPA about it. They get enough complaints it will be stopped.
