Maybe the score is a good sign. It might reflect that the vast majority of students are smart enough not to sacrifice their bodies and subject themselves to increased pain, sufffering, and dementia as they grow old. For whatver reason, maybe only those with the least talent but biggest egos are on the team...including the coaches. 61-6...WOW! That's a bag over the head performance...and more justification for taking the high priority of sports out of the academic arena.

Now this all makes sense. No wonder why they need to build the 10 million athletic facility. Maybe Latrobe who should find a coach who knows the game, and not one who needs 1 star player to carry his team. Take Pryor off of his teams and you would see more scores like Fridays. The coach is an idiot.

Just a matter of time before this all gets turned around. As soon as the new 10 million dollar facility is complete, we will have a winning football team (and all other team sports). And then when that happens, well then, our school district will put out the best student ever...oh no wait....that may have been true if we would have put that much money into EDUCATION. It doesn't make one bit of difference if all the sports teams never lose another game as far as making successful citizens. We need to educate our students...screw the sports teams. Who cares!

Based upon your statement, I assume that the record includes a lor of "scored like Friday" with him on the losing end? I'm interested in getting the scoop.

Latrobe would love to play AA division football with a few standout atheletes.....but as Ray is finding out thats not the case. I've followed the now 18-22 year olds for many years, midget days, Jr High, Sr High. Although every year brings new hopefuls I believe these classes were the strongest. The line, the dee, QB, running game, depth, substitutions, versatility, senior leadership. Good luck & hang in there it might be a long year.

If memory serves me correctly Ray only was a head coach for 4 years at Jeanette which all happened to be the years with Pryor. If I also recall correctly he served as the d coordinator for over 20 years at the same school. In those 20 years the ones in which they made the playoffs they were out scored by an average of 37.3 to 22.5. I would not be too proud of those elimination scores if I was running the d. He only took the Latrobe job for two reasons. More money and his golden egg in-school suspension monitor job. Please don't make the guy out to be a legendary coach when his only success came while having two players who were quad a talents playing in AA. I am not saying he is a terrible coach but his success comes with an asterisk as any joe blow would have done the same with those two.

Redneck, maybe you should start protesting high school football games. You could prove how harmful and terrible sports are for the students.

By telling people how stupid they are for supporting high school sports? Yeah, that will go over big. He's little more than a troll, and trolls tend to do very little in real life to rock the boat.

He took Over a horrible program that had one of the worst coaches in history coaching it and already has a no talent area with two winning seasons. If you expect Latrobe to ompete with Pittsburg schools, I dont know what to tell you.

They barely competed against DERRY in the past two years. Forget Pittsburgh. It is either the coaching, interfering parents, or players with no pulse.

If you expect Latrobe to ompete with Pittsburg schools, I dont know what to tell you. Ok I couldn't let it go after this. Take a look at all the boys varsity sports record since 2004 at maxpreps.c almost every program has had a number of successful years and all carry a much higher winning percentage that the football team. And if you really want to think that football team is much more successful with Reitz again you are dead wrong. Reitz has yet to eclipse the highest Win total that even Murray had! Size of a program can only give you so much. I remember before Latrobe even had boys volleyball that little old tiny Derry was able to not only compete but also beat the heck out of teams like NA, PH, Mt Lebo just to name a few. I also think that program has gone downhill since shaw has retired. I also think Youngstown state beat Pitt just a week ago.
