As I commented in May on the last big raid. If law enforcement can seize properties and businesses for drugs, embezzelement, receiving stolen property, why are these businesses not confiscated?

Why aren't the people in charge of hiring these illegals arrested? Very hefty fines should also be implemented against the company and not any five or ten thousand dollar fines.

I LOVE hearing news like this - except it doesn't talk about charging the owners criminally....now THAT would be a story!

It also didn't mention if they were using stolen identities, or if they were paid under the table.

I sure feel safer now that the "federal authorities" bravely apprehended 58 cooks, dishwashers and foodservers.

American citizens and legal immigrants will be in Postville, Iowa, this Sunday, July 27, to demonstrate their support for recent efforts to crackdown on employers who hire illegal aliens. Postville was the site of the largest enforcement action to date by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) at a meat processing plant that employed hundreds of illegal aliens and was engaging in other criminal activities, including document fraud. The rally, in support of ICE's stepped-up enforcement activities, will counter demonstrations planned by supporters of illegal immigration. In addition to Iowans, supporters of immigration enforcement will travel to Postville from Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin and New Jersey.

if they are illegal, there is only one thing that needs to be considered - DEPORTATION.

..and yes, I agree with other posters on the fate of the owners WHO hire illegals - THEY SHOULD BE PUNISHED.

by golly, if these citizens who hire the illegals happen to be recently approved us citizens, I think they should lose their us citizenships too.

..where's the logic of granting us citizenship to criminals?

Again, businesses that KNOWINGLY hire illegals, which by the vast amount here, should have there businesses confiscated. Its understandable that a few could slip through in hiring but from what looks like a large percentage of this restaraunts employees shows that they knowingly hired illegals.

I'm just excited they're raiding. Let's not be hasty. They do their investigations for about a year it appears. I formerly thought ICE did little and was understaffed....but no longer. They're everywhere, they're everywhere! Why anyone would continue to use illegals is way beyond my comprehension! Go ICE

They should be! It would pay for the cost of deportations and recover taxpayers funds.
