Had lunch there on Saturday...a Blue Moon, good food, good company, and great service. Love the place and enjoy showing it off to my friends from out of the area. They are impressed and so am I.

Yes, many months ago. I'm not new to the grill; I go often and love it.
I normally use the women's room but have seen the fabulous men's room, too.
I show it off.
The interior design is remarkable. I'm impressed with Al's artwork (he does the iron sculptures), the meeting rooms, and evrything about the place.
1st class all the way. It's about time Union County steps into this century.

I for one like to compliment Union County for keeping up with the times. I see entire families playing golf
There and enjoying the grill for lunch.

You must live in Blue Ridge, why criticize me for supporting Blairsville where I own a home.

I think what that Blue Ridge person meant was that you are full of bar savvy. I agree that the Grill is a great place to have lunch or a drink. It's especially nice when we can set outside.

Hope you are doing well. When are you coming back up to Blairsville?

I am playing Butternut this Sunday. supposed to be 67 degrees.

Looked at the Grill on the website. Looks like a nice place and they seem to have some creative marketing programs to attract people in. As a restaurant it looks fine - probably a nice place to go, and since it is already built I probably would.

But I question the need for Taxpayer funded restaurants. Is it running a profit, or a deficit? Every single time I've seen a government or community run restaurant, they always run into the same trap - they don't operate according to sound budgets and an eye to reality as a normal private business eatery must if it is to survive.

It's also sort of unfair competition to the other restaurants who have to compete against a blank check governmentally funded business. Every dollar spent on a burger at The View Grill could take a dollar out of the pockets of a local business owner and restaurant operator. And when the The View Grill loses money, then the taxpayers foot the bill.

But I am sure the establishment is fine, and I wouldn't absolutely stay away because of any of this. But I would question why the County got into the restaurant business, competing with private business.

The county isn't in the restaurant business. The community center's grill is small and a nice addition for golfers. The excuse it takes business away from other restaurants is lame. When other places serve a Bloody Mary on the porch overlooking the beautiful mountains, I'll go there, too. In fact, I frequent all the good restaurants in the area. Most people do.

Those of us who frequent the grill and golf are taxpayers, as well. I'm getting my dollars worth and those who aren't make the choice to stay away.

The community center has more going on than just the grill and golf. It would be nice if people who complain about their tax dollars drop by and take a look at what you are paying for. People who haven't stepped foot in the community center are the biggest complainers.

Your right Dick. All these people complain about roads not being fixed and culverts not installed and things not being kept up and the industrial Park looking like a Disaster Zone even with all that money donated by them through state and federal taxes and the list just goes on. They have no idea what is important. A drunk being able to have a bloody mary while looking over the golf course is far more important than giving some poor widow a tax break or providing a food bank or any of the other worthless activities that people think we should have. Your the man Dick. Do you need any roads paved this summer?

Its difficult to suggest on Topix but restaurants like Carrabas give scholarships for culinary students. It would be great if the View Grill did; and the recipient should be from Union County.

Lamar does have lunch there, but he can't have a drink at the grill because he is the commish. Silly, but true.
