I left Blairsville 32 years ago..

Wow so much seems to have changed since I lived there! I have some awesome childhood memories of hunting, fishing, living in Northern Ga. We had the best Boy Scout troop in the world as well. Troop 101.
I left in Ninth grade. I'm a blonde blue eyed male. I wonder if anyone who is a native in their mid forties or so can guess, based on these minimal facts, who I am.

funny you say that because I remember my friends telling me, " don't let them turn you into a yankee " !
Even funnier that back when I lived there, we despised you damned flat lander Floridians.. ; ) I've been fortunate enough to have traveled the USA quite a bit and I've stayed in some nice areas, but, those mountains and that climate are still my favorite!
I still have family in Blairsville.

You and me both fit in same time frame . Curious if you recognize any of these names. Ken Mccormick, Suzanne White, Dewayne Bracket. These are some of the kids I went to school with. I also moved from Blairsville in the mid 70's. I still frequent the area, and I also have family there.

Some of the teachers I remember were Mrs Addams, Mrs Nichols, and Coach Sosebee.

Mrs. Wimpy was our Iron fisted principle in grade school. I believe Mister Thompson in jr. high. Jr. high teachers--Mr. York, Miss Arrowood,Mrs. Cobb, Two Mrs. Whites... I played the Banjo in Mr. Parkers band.. ; )

If you haven't been back since then, how do you know Blairsville has changed so much. There have been changes since then, but you can still recognize the old Blairsville. The biggest change to the area is highway 515, which came through during the mid 80's. Some locals will probably say that started the down fall of the quiet home town feel of Blairsville.

The only other kid that comes to mind that was blue eyed and blonde headed was a Long. I can't remember his first name though. He and his family lived on Blue Ride Hwy a couple miles south of Blairsville.

Suzanne is down in Palm Beach Gardens in Florida now. She's still a cutie and I also had a crush on her back in the day. She looks to be happily married now. Good for her, bad for the rest of us boys waiting our chance still.
