I'm not sure how the Constitution requires this event to be held there.

However, once it does happen, it does set a precedent that in retrospect may or may not in the future seem to have been well-thought out.

Gawd it sounds harmless kinda like mardi gras. It could be just a comical dress up show and I will attend to see who is brave enuff to do it.

Seriously? Some of you need to lighten up. It's a FUN thing to raise money for a good cause. Holy cow these are straight men dressing up like The Bud Light girls from the old commercials. I'm pretty sure they won't be handing out "Join Our Cross-Dressing Club Or Else" brochures to the kids. Yeesh people.

That's the issue. Now that this event is happening, what legal basis would there be for denying another womanless pageant to raise money for, say, the Klan? Would that not be viewpoint discrimination?

I'm no constitutional scholar, but once you permit a fund raiser on public property, you cannot then deny fundraisers on that property on the basis of their point of view.

It's like specialty license plates or roadside cleanup sponsorships. It's all fun and games when the local Red Hat Society chapter sponsors a roadside cleanup and gets a road sign for recognition, but once you've done that, the door must also be kept open for the Klan to do the same thing. Not good enough? How about pro-life license plates that raise money for pro-life groups? Guess what? Now you have to let pro-choice groups raise money with their own specialty plates. You'll find TONS of material about that with a Google search.

Same thing here. Be careful about what you open the door for here...you never know what kind of fundraising events you might have to open the schoolhouse door to in the future is all that I'm saying.

All you have to do is set up your own, better, fundraiser. You got a more profitable idea, then go gidderdone. At least we folks are working to solve a problem. You just seem to want to create problems. I challenge you to be part of the solution, puddlegum. I mean, really, do you follow Deuteronomy?

Deuteronomy 23:2 says: A child who's mother and father are not married shall not enter into the congregation of the lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the lord.

Uhmmm, I wonder how kilts fit into your narrow world view ?

Are pants a male or female article of clothing, because the term transvestite applies to either sex.

Or maybe, just maybe, this prohibition is purely confined to the time and culture that it was written.
