Time to weed out the good ole boys
I agree with you. Frank Pack is the perfect man to turn over the apple cart. The town of Blaisville could be heading for some major financial problems with all that they are taking on. Not that many people living in town for all the spending going on.

Most people are barley making ends met. How many Grants do you think they can get? Most will be coming out of your pockets.

We know that the current Mayor is just a "YES MAN"

Boy would things ever change if Frank Pack takes over. The Good Ole Boy system that has been controlling our town and county would all come tumbling down.

VOTE WISELY if you are ever to expect change in Union County.

Agreed, the Mayor and Council have done to Blairsville, what Obama is doing to our Nation.

It's a shame to stand by an watch as our Country or our Town is destroyed.

We need NEW leadership.

I for one would like to see what Frank could do.

I think his heart is in the right place.

You don't really think the
Directors will allow him to become Mayor do you? I bet it won't be long until we start hearing of the Junk Yard and how he needs to quit working and get rid of his stuff. I still say their will be a dark horse. Looks as though it should have been Conley, Dyer and Pack on the survey.

Every dog has it's day.

The town of Blairsville can really clean up the good Ole Boy system by electing Frank Pack.

I agree that the town will start picking on the Frank Pack property. It's his property.

Just how long exactly has it been there. Seems to me it should be grandfathered in. I have junk yards all around me one bank owned. Don't see any one picking on them.

If that was true that would make for a sure win but I remember Reb saying he was not a resident of the city. Anyone got any suggestions as to who might run for councilman? How about some business owners?

A little education please.
Just what is it that makes you think we need a new mayor? Property taxes have gone up, I am not aware of any problems with the city services such as water and sewer. The downtown area is going to be spruced up thanks to grant money.
So please, what SPECIFIC problems do you have with the way the current mayor and council are running the city?
P.S.
Please let us know if you live in, or our a city property owner when you respond.
Thanks.

Just as an Observer:
All Conley has ever done is do what he is told by we all know who.
The city may appear in good financial shape but in reality is in considerable debt for as few a taxpayers as we have.
Their onlylconcern is the down town area but the residents do not live in the downtown area.
They have never cleaned out drainage ditches or culverts and even Lamar does that
They give everyone the big spill that grant money is going to pay for the downtown facelift. No one is fool enough to think that anyone is going to give away free money.
The streets are all cracked and in poor repair.
They just started working on Ben's old office. Didn't bid to get the lowest price but gave it to who they wanted to have it just like the county.
Operate illegal in open meeting and do not care if they have legal action brought against them since the taxpayer has to pay the price.
The mayors position was created to give Conley a job. Has always been a part time job and no reason why it cannot be today.
Council members have speed bumps installed on their street. Mahan has two within 100 ft. of each other and the residents must dodge for their life.
They need to get their heads out of their butt and make the city a nice place to live and own a business instead of taxing and extra regulations to please themselves. It is time for the puppets to go and time to have leadership of the people.
They use the water and sewer system to regulate what they want and don't want. This is against Federal law since they borrow the money for these utilities from the Fed. Govt.
The list is never ending. I am a resident of the city and I am voting for the next mayor who wasn't listed here but has not announced yet.
By the way which Director are you. You used that same name when you were trying to get Lamar reelected. Big difference in Lamar and Jim Conley. Lamar didn't do very good at an open forum but Jim Conley might as well not show up. Any Chance the Tea Party would have a debate?

Boy, these Misfits are too lazy to clean out their ditches in the city, too. I thought ACOG was the only one who couldn't clean out her own ditch. Guess not. Maybe that fool who digs potholes in his own road can come and help the city clean the ditches. Maybe not.

REB,
Thank you for your response. I to live in town and have a business here, and I was on the city council. Since 80% of the city budget comes from sales tax, I think fixing up the downtown area benefits all of us. I say again my city property taxes have not gone up, based on the council meetings I was a part of I can state the cities not in deep debt as you think.

With the exception of 2 meetings were the signs were discussed I could count on one hand the number residents who showed up for meetings, and still have most of my fingers. that to me indicates that most all of the city voters were/are pretty happy with the way the city is being run.

Nice chatting with you.

I would consider going in debt to buy property which they have no need for as debt., Course with a little bookkeeping tricks that can be called a debt of the Downtown Development but the City is the one who agreed to pay for it from taxes. It is not worthwhile to go to council meeting because people are in ignored and made fun of. All that is needed to show just how things go are to have a open forum with the candidates. If you want to make your point believable why don't you work toward that happening. By the way I can't remember the last time a business owner was on the council. It would have to be Tom Candler or Red Carson.

Idiots like you don't really deserve answering but I feel charitable today. Why should a elderly widow or handicapped man or anyone who is physically handicapped have to clean out a ditch while the city has a small army on the payroll riding around in city trucks doing nothing. I would imagine you would be the first idiot to call and demand help if you broke your little pinky. Your a real fool.
