The Union County School Board has let the citizens of the County down. They have decided to go with a superintendent that has a minimum education degree.Because he's a good ole boy does not mean that he is right for the job. Check out the neighboring counties superintendents credentials and education experience . They are doctors of Education or have Master degrees. Our local school board has decided to go back to hiring their buddies instead of putting our children first. So sad. Why did they not let the public voice their opinion in an open forum instead of slipping him through. Sure he may be a good man and a nice friend but he's not right for the job . If they're advertising that there's going to be a 14 day public opinion why did they not do that.

Which of the local ruling families is he kin to ? He may not be bad.

Degrees are overrated these days, especially with all these worthless online degrees.

Do we really need an open forum with input from the locals that are mostly ignorant and uneducated themselves?

Will he still make $200,000.00 to $300,000.00 per year? Is there an agency or board in Georgia that oversees this? Deal is all about education and we moved to the number 33 spot instead of the worst 5 states in the US for education in 2017. Call his office or write a letter. He is not running for reelection but still seems to want to leave a good legacy.

Thank you for the advise. Someone with a minimum education, degree, does not need to be in control of a school system.

The school board should require him to go back and get a higher education degree. They should not hire someone to be over a school system with just a four-year degree and pay them several hundred thousand dollars a year. Apparently they are all big buddies

Question that. Mail order degrees are not worth their signatures. Same goes for teachers and their raises.

I think we need to look into the qualifications of the school board. I understand, according to the Georgia law, they are not allowed to have any relatives working in the district. And apparently there is at least two that has relatives that are working in the school district. Does the school board not follow rules?

The school board in Union County is a joke. They don't even follow their own rules and look who they put in at superintendent.

Is that one of those online degrees? Not worth the paper it is written on. That seems to be a smack in the face for all those people that have gone and actually went to a class to get their degrees

The degree issue can be solved easily all we have to do is get a hold of the state school board superintendence office and inquire about his degrees can you see if they're worth the paper they're written on problem solved
